Site keeps moving up and down for keyword in Google...Why is that???

    I have a site (not any of the ones in my signature) that keeps moving on a daily basis in the SERPs for its keyword. It will be at #4 or #5 for a few hours and then back to like #60 for few hours and then to #4 again. This has been happening on a daily basis for like the last month or so. I have pretty much done on-page SEO and off-page SEO (many link exchanges, article links ,etc.). According to Yahoo it has about 730 links. The site has been up for about 2.5 months now. I have developed all my other sites the same way and they all gradually moved up the SERP's (some to #1 spot in 3 months). But with this site it just moves to page 1 or page 5-6. It doesn't seem to move up gradually like my other sites. Anyone know what can be causing this? What else can I do to stabilize at the top spot?

    You could be linking to sites that are banned from google. This penalizes you. Remember this one thing: GOOGLE WILL NOT PENALIZE YOU IF THE FACTOR IS "OUTSIDE" OF YOUR CONTROL. So it has to all do with who you link to and your onpage. Also, check out your competition they might be getting better at ranking day by day.

    This might have to do with the newness of the site and the fact you're doing that well with it bodes real well for you and suggests you're doing a lot of things right. If you get shot down and stay down, which might just happen actually in spite of your best effort, then there's more need to worry but still not a whole lot. If you can get on page 1 then even if you're on and off like this, although this seems a bit extreme, then you're doing all right Captain and just ride the waves for now ;)

    i have a small suggestion for your problem, hope you can update the content of your website frequently to check for better results.

    also develop few quality links from good sites or the webpage with PR3+.

    I think if you have maintain your site regularly and update content time to time. It's important factor to get well rank in search engine.

    I think you are targeting high competition keyword. Just keep working and giving quality backlink to your site. After some quality backlink you site will be stable for that keyword.
