How to Improve Visitor Bounce Rate

I am working a a real estate site & bounce rate is too high (58%) .

i need advice no how to reduce bounce rate for my site

In single sentence i wud give you advice.................

Try to make your site User Friendly not Search Engine Friendly.

 

Give visitors actions to take if they are interested in the current page. Add links to more information at the bottom of the copy or within content.

schgrv i want users to be on site not search engines . bounce rate is no where related to SE friendliness (i think u just trying to increase post count )

It's really unbelievable for me that u don't know how bounce rate is related to your site search engine friendly nature. Here are some factors those are gud to improve Bounce rate but some are bad for same purpose............

Suppose you have site about any product. And optimize your site pages according to optimization rules.

Lets go with content of any page in site...............
Suppose u have nice & unique content but you stuff with keywords to get high search engine ranking. Or u increase keyword density. By increasing keyword density u might get high rankings but any visitors come to ur page and see such content with keyword stuffing then he gets irritate and leave ur site.

Other thing not matching of ur page title and content of that page. Suppose you have keyword targeted domain name and in ur page title you target this keyword more for high rankings and don't look ur page content actually what it is saying? If u get high rankings and any visitor come to ur page after keyword search from search engine but he/she don't find same thing for which they did search. Then they leave ur page.

And main thing Poor presentation of your web page. Sometime people make many changes in their webpages to make them search engine friendly and to achieve high rankings. They forget how they are looking? Are they proper organized, interlinked and have eye catching views to stop a visitor for a while. If visitor come to ur site does not get ur webpage proper organized. gud looking and properly interconnected then they leave ur webpage..................

well i agree with u ... sometimes u know things & just dnt give much imp (same thing happened with me now )

anyways i was just looking to keep visitors on my site & giving them what they want as most of my visitors are either through referrals or email campaign

 

just need to check content. think why visitor don't like content. what they like. keep in mind these question and research .

You check exit pages and set up funnels in analytics to further aid in this process. If you are loosing folks on the home page or entry page, well, you likely have other issues to address.

Bounce Traffic: Analysis and Recommendations

good article but it's more about GA than specific to bounce rate

 

If you are spending money on traffic whether it be Google Adwords, YSM, Adengage, AdToll or any other ad network make sure your ads are related to the target audience.... nothing worse then having users visit your site that have no interest in your site.

If your high bounce rate is coming from organic traffic then its all about having a user-friendly site that guides the user and makes them feel welcome. You will always have an element of bouncing visitors you can't help that, the trick is keeping it to a minimum.

 

make sure the pages your viewers are landing on makes them want to stay and continue reading

 

First of all, get rid of the Adsense. You want a high bounce rate with Adsense sites since you want 20% or more of your visitors to leave that way. Your focus obviously isn't on an Adsense niche but on selling your service. Dump the Adsense. It looks unprofessional in this context and isn't placed well to boot.

Secondly, where is your traffic coming from (search, PPC, etc) and is your home page the primary entry point? The home page doesn't really engage or direct the visitor.

 

Before I start thinking about bounce rate, I would worry about content. In the site http://www.getreoproperty.com/ , there is nothin unique about your site. Every page has the same <title> and description.

You need to focus on adding something unique to your home page that make it appeal to users. It just looks like all the rest.

And when it comes to the internal pages, blaw...

 

If u have high SEO traffic bounce rate will be high because ur site will rank for many different keywords and most of them may be untargeted.

 

Always focus on visitors not on Search Engine. Write for visitors, and design for visitors.

That will definitely help you to reduce bounce rate of your site. Serve what visitors are looking for, and you will get conversions.
