Hi All Next week I start a new full time job. Unfortunately its going to be a lot stricter than the job I currently do. Well it does pay a lot more money but that obviously means a lot more hard work with a lot less internet usage during the day times. What this means is I will only have about one hour a day during the week to work on the sites that I own. I will be concentrating mainly on one site. At the weekends I should be able to get five hours a day. So how would you best spend your hour a day during the week. Link marketing Posting on forums or Yahoo answers Contacting people direct Or any other methods that you can suggest? Im sure I read that the guy who started Plenty Of Fish was only working an hour or so a day when he first started. The site just sort of run itself. I can get away with this on what Im doing to some degree. Thanks James
How to best spend that hour? Having sex or having a beer with my friends. Beside that I would be making content for my site.
Thats why I only have the hour. The rest of the night will be with the other half. Cooking Eating drinking and hopefully some x rated action.
It really depends on the kind of sites you own. I wouldn't stick to one strategy for all sites unless they were all of the same niche. If they're all blogs then yes writing content and participating in forums and other blogs in the one hour would be good. Some activities can also be outsourced, like link building or other marketing activities.
I would write an article or two, submit them to article directories, spend a few minutes on Yahoo Answers, and then post here a few times. Oh yea, I'd try to keep up with email as well.
I would suggest working 20 minutes in each: Link marketing Posting on forums or Yahoo answers Contacting people direct This schedule should work out quite well in your 1 hour time slot.
1 hour is not much. I would not spend much time on yahoo answers but I have got maybe some results from that site with links to my site in the bottom but its not much for the effort and not targeted.
link build and post on forums. Link building is the bread and butter of a sucessful website. With no links you get NO SEO RANK. Do the math be smart and link build!
I would write or work on an artical, comment on a few blogs and post in a few forums. One hour is not a ton of time, but you can get a lot done if you push yourself.
Be very disciplined. Make a point of creating new content. Make a point of creating and submitting new articles. Make a point of posting and pinging your blog(s). Focus ALL of your advertising on building a list. As your list grows, you will constantly be able to sell more in less time. Whatever you are doing... ALWAYS ask yourself, "Is this the best use of my time? Is this activity going to make me more money?" If the answer is "No"... stop doing it. If it has to be done, hire it out.
It depends a lot on the type of website you run. For instance, I run a couple web hosting sites and article marketing is not an option because articles in that field are already saturated. However, forum posting seems to bring in some good traffic to my sites. It all depends on your niche.
