I don't sell a domain that i can develop for some bucks!
Why? Because i prefer to work hard in the domain and make come good bucks after 1 year.

I sold a Blog this year for 20K

I worked hard on it during 1 year and 6 months (everyday!)

That's the way i am!

Well i just bought my first .me domain couple of days ago after seeing some of the lists posted in this thread!

I've put a site on it - a little embarrassed about the domain but i have lots of dating sites / domains so i couldn't resist getting at least one .me domain after godady upset me by first telling me i had 20 .me domains on the first day of the general sale, only to be followed by a rush of crappy "only joking" email's

Anyhow here it is - tell me if you think it may have a trademark issue or any other comments welcome

Hate to say it, but to me that domain has trademark issues written all over it... and Johnson & Johnson is not a small company!

 

Yeah....beginning to think that as well, will do a little research and see if they have just "ky" trademarked or the full domain trademarked, before i spend any $ promoting

well just had a look and "k-y" is trademarked

but i do not think the word "ky jelly" is..........lol

What do you think my chances are worth keeping or shall i bin it

I think they didn't even tell when the auction will start yet. I guess everything will be explain on their site pretty soon!

 

Personally I would say bin it. It doesn't matter if they have the full phrase trademarked or just "KY" - the domain is blatantly based on their product and the moment you make a single cent off the domain, you'll probably be getting a letter from their solicitors. Just my opinion but I wouldn't risk it...

 

Which are sites that are just targeted towards auctioning/selling of .me domain names ?

Cheers for the link. I'm a bit confused about this premium domain thing - is this simply the domains that went to auction but nobody placed any bids?

I'm assuming nobody yet knows if they will be auctioned again or simply made available for registration etc...

 

No... these domains have yet to be listed. They are highly valuable names.. Will see some great bids once these names go live!

 

i don't put too much weight on Alexa but it's enabled on my Search Status firefox addon so it's something i notice. i launched a few sites in July and August. some are still in the half assed stage of development but at least they're out there. my other extensions like .COM and .ORG and even .CC have already attained some rankings in Alexa but my .ME's are not on the map. interesting...

 

I'm curious to see the domain collect.me !!!
