You can either add the keywords into the text that's written on your page, or you can add them into the metatags of your .html document. I'm not sure which way would be best.. Here's an image of my metatags; you can see all my keywords entered there.

    ^don't do that^
at best pointless, at worst = keyword stuffing

You don't add keywords, you already have them - it's what your site is about. You make sure that search engines know which are the important keywords by having them in your page titles, H1 headers and in the text on the page, along with synonyms of the word.

It's utterly pointless. It's known as keyword stuffing. Just put five or six of your most important keywords, and you are done. Don't overplace keywords. Just have your keywords on your content at a 2 % rate. Yahoo looks for a little more than that. But google is what most matters.
Remove these keywords immediately so you don't get banned.
    All the best.

That is what they called "Keyword Stuffing"! It is somehow consider as Black hat technique, but Google can easily trace this kind of strategies. I suggest you limit the number of keywords you use in your meta tags. Only place important keyphrases in your meta tags, in choosing the best KWs, use seo tools like adwords and keyword discovery.

I tend to use goofy post titles and then I put a real title in my All-in-One SEO plugin. But the few straight titles seem to work better for Google. Is there anything I can do to have goofy titles but good, clear URLs?

Also, when I put keywords into my individual posts I'll do something like this:

sherrill dl, sherrill fantasy, jim johnson closer, orioles closer, fantasy jim johnson

Those are all relevant, on topic keywords, but should I be narrowing it down to like one or two keywords per post? Like -- sherrill dl, sherrill fantasy ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You can add keywords in the title tag, meta description tag, meta keywords tag, Anchor text, Heading Tags, URL, Alt tags, website copy.

If you want to see how any site has used these tags, see them and check out their source also.

There are various locations to add your keywords to your website firstly i will make the point that for each page you only want to be targeting at the most 5 keywords to keep the percentage of importance between each keyword high enough to be noticed.

The first place you want to add your keywords is within your title tag situated between the opening and closing <head> tags.

Secondly usually directly below the title tag you will see your meta tags both your keyword and description should include your keywords.

Now we move to your body within your article or content you should include your keywords approximately 5-7% of the time sometimes as far as 9%.

You also want to place your keywords in the anchor text of your website, you can find a lot more out about keyword research within my All in one Keyword research eBooks which you can download for free here
