Maintaining an account with HDFC does not enable u to get a credit card in 3 months. You need to be a HDFC bank customer for over 6 months and the the credit card offer will come to you. I got the same in July and now a proud owner of HDFC gold CC. In the meanwhile the monthly account balance is one thing while the number of days is another...

One more thing is that HDFC will ask you for your PAN Card , so be ready with the same.

You do not need to be working to get a PAN Card.. I got one while I was not working .. Just get a Form from UTI Securities and fill it up with Address proof and ID proof. If you father has a PAN Card then mention his details as I did in my Card and you will get the PAN Card in less than 15 days. I got the PAN card on 14th day..

to get a CC from SBI you dont need 40k or a PAN no. all you need to do is apply online at www.SBICard.com and they will first come to your house to verify you... and once your verified you will get your CC like i got mine... its very easy to get a cc from SBI... i didnt even had 10k in my sbi account.. and yet i got it from them... and now i have 2 CC.... one from SBI and other one from hdfc... but i got my hdfc card when i didnt had a account at hdfc...

one more thing i forgot to tell you... and that is you should be permenent residence.... and you should have LIC... and you will get your CC from sbi within 6 to 7 days... but it will take sometime for them to come to your home if you applied online since 1000,s of applications are still panding.... so here is a phone number you need to call..... 012439020202.... and go for apply for new card and then select talk with there representative.... and tell them you need a CC.... and ask how you can get one....

Even if you have an FD with HDFC it makes it easy for you to get the card!

just do fixed deposit of 10 k or 20 k in hdfc bank and they will issue cc against it. for this u need not have anykind of pan card or anyother thing. I got my cc that way through hdfc.

so you want the cc to verify your paypal, right! do one thing, get a addon card on your fathers credit card on his account! easy

then use then to verify your paypal. Sbi will easily give you an addon card on your fathers SBI account!

i am also fked up with indian banks
I am 18 and i am trying hard to get a CC
I don't have pan,lic and anything
so what i did was i told my dad to apply for a CC and after he get his CC i will ask him to get a addon card
But BUT i recently heard that to get eligible for addon card one has to be at least 21 years of age
if it is true then i am really in a big problem

UPDATE:

After shear useless waiting,i decided to verify my PayPal using my HDFC account's NetSafe VCC.

Now its verified and im able to do all the transactions..

Yea, netsafe helps a lot. Even I'm waiting eagerly for HDFC card through standard paperwork and procedure.
