HTML or Blog??

Which do you prefer... a straight HTML site, or a blog (like wordpress)? Can you provide reasons for your preference?

I have tried both, and seem to have better luck with the blogging sites. Admittedly, I have not put a great deal of time into the development of my HTML sites.

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks.:)

actually depends on what kind of site you have, if you products like computers or whatever, you must use CMS and generate HTML pages.

and for topic reviews, stories, news use blog. You cannot convert a e-commerce site to a blog, correct me if i'm wrong

Well with the stick shift you can have more control and won't get stuck in the snow! I like blogs because of simplicity, but seem to have better letter with conversions when using html sites (well php)

I like to work with wordpress which is very easy for each of the person.
If you just know idea of HTML then it is very simple and it will be ready within short period of time.
After making blog you may change it day to day with effects, colour etc. options.

I have tried HTML and self-developed CMS. Now I am using wordpress. Straight HTML has the most flexibility. But do you really need that? The exception situation is that you are running a online store, you need a store system which is different from wordpress and CMS.

I generally prefer writing my own websites, but I do use wordpress blogs too just because it's easy to update and add too. But from my experience, building the sites yourself takes a lot more work, but in the end it will convert better.

if you often have new contents, i think a blog is good for you. if you seldom publish new contents, then an html site is better for you.

I would choose blogs. It allows contents to be added easily without much hassle or worry much on the design part.

I kind of use an html/blog hybrid. When you click through things on my site its setup sort of like a blog with the directory and page title styles but they are all statically created. I like the control I have with static pages and since I have templates for everything it doesnt take me long to create a new page.
