How many sites??

Hi there, I am new to the forums and have found the information here very useful. After reading through the posts, I am curious about how many sites y'all run.

Right now I am in the process of building about eight sites. I read on another site that the author thinks one needs 10 to 50 sites to be profitable.

    What do you think?

you can have 1000 sites but its useless if the content are not unique and the websites are just trash.

compare to if u maintain one good site, unique content, u keep updating. thats alone can make u profitable.

i will say 5 good website can give u profitable. its not quantity matters, its quality :D

You can have as many sites as you like, but make sure they are relevant site, if you'll do it just for sake of chances of having a click for the money, you might just well forget it.

you are better off doing a good job with one site than a bad job with 5 sites

if you have the time and the discipline to work hard for many hours every day, then maybe you can do a good job on more than one

Everyone has the ability to manage differing amounts of sites. For some one big site is more than enough to handle, but others can manage 50 sites without worry. I personally concentrate on about 7-10 different sites, however none of them are large. In my experience, if you want to mange multiple sites, do them one at a time. Build it, start promoting it, see some results, and then begin the next, while you continue to market the first. You'll quickly learn what your comfort zone is for the amount of sites you can handle. If you have a full time job, and do this on the side, just start out with a couple, so you don't burn yourself out. Once you learn some of the tricks, you'll be able to do your next sites with greater efficiency and you'll be making even more money in the end. Good luck.

If you are not an experienced webmaster, I suggest 2-3 sites are the limit. You need to learn the basic skills of marketing and ads. 2-3 sites will spend all of your time.

I have 3 sites, but only really focus on one. One of my sites makes next to nothing, and the other pulls down a little bit, but nothing considerable yet.

It's all about what you are comfortable with managing.

Agreed. Starting off with EIGHT sites is a waste, IMO... if you're new. Start with 1-2 consecutive sites and learn how to build them up then slowly start adding 1-2 more sites / month and make those grow while maintaining the other sites.

As long as you have traffic (specially niche oriented traffic) you can have just one or two.
Since you´re starting i´d suggest you to get 2-4 sites and spend some time on each one writing unique content and experimenting several layouts.
