Why Wiki Pages gets good PR and search ranks and If I put a wiki software on my website like "dokuwiki" Would pages of the wiki will get high PR and search rankings
I dont agree with this..if any site has good useful content with large number of backlinks then it will get high pr and serps... The wiki is getting all this becoz people believe its good source of info and thus cite the link and this increases the backlinks
Agreed, Wikipedia gets great Pagerank web pages because of all the backlinks it recieves, not because of the "platform".
Yea it's definitely not the system, it's the content. You need to build content that people will link to, then you will get PR no matter what platform you're using.
wiki gets high PR because of the backlinks they have and also coz of the content and infos people gets from them.
It is not the Wiki Pages that get the PR, it's the Wiki site that has received it. It has a very large and well structured site that has "the Age" SEO element associated to it. In addition, the have placed a "NoFollow" attribute on all of the outbound links to maximize their page rank. But for all of the editors, content creators, etc. that put that site together for free in exchange for a link to their site, all feel betrayed by Wiki. And if you want to start a great Blog thread, discuss the quality and fairness of the Wiki editors.
