This is really weird. For some reason my web camera is not working. I am thinking this is because i downgraded from windows vista to windows XP and i think something is missing, but i cant figure out what.

My usb stick is working, but my printer and camera are not i am probably missing some video software. I install the camera and everything through a CD and when it finishes it says it does not detect a camera. I tried 5 different cameras all the same. I am willing to pay anyone who gives me a solution to this.

Try plugging in your camera to a different USB slot and see if you system detects it.

Do as vonvhen says. But completely uninstall it first. Restart you computer install it again but when it prompts you to plug in the device use a different usb port to the one you have been using. Does anything work in this USB socket that you are using for the camera?

Go to the manufacturers website and download the latest driver for XP. Drivers for Vista are not compatible with XP.

Have you tried calling the manufacturer? How old is this hardware?

Try reinstalling or installing USB drivers. They must be in your motherboard driver CD or try motherboards manufacturers web. I hope it helps.

    Hmm,
Updating your Software should solve it..
I had the same problem months ago..

    Just updated the driver :)
Try blowing air in the USB point and then try it..
It gets solved like that usually..

    Btw,
How much are you willing to pay? :D
