The going prices for professional sales copywriting pages / landing pages are very high as it seems like. I'm seeing prices of $100 - $1000. Is there any here willing to put themselves on the line to prove their worth in exchanging their service for all commission earned from our affiliate advertisers in two weeks of having the page up or maybe even up to a month but with less % of the commission? Would someone take me up on this offer b/c i'm very reluctant to shell out hundreds of $$'s for a few pages to get nothing in return. In the last month we sent over thousands of clicks to our affiliate advertisers and we made no conversion. Our traffic is all targetted. Mostly search engine traffic and we advertise only on related websites. I apologize if this thread should be in the content creation page but I am putting it here as to question and discuss how a writer justify their service if it ends up with 0 sales conversion with quality traffic. Please PM me for more information on site.
Typically, writers prove their worth with portfolio pieces. It would be pretty foolish for someone to spend hours writing copy only in exchange for "possible" commissions. There are many more factors to good sales conversions than sales letter writing. Yes, the copy is a part of it, but there are other things that can put off potential buyers. Maybe the Web design isn't very professional and people aren't buying because they can't find their way around the site. The products may not be all that good - there could be bad reviews. People may be coming to a site looking for information on one topic and when they see your site contains information on something else, they move on. The pricing system could be off - too high or too low.
As Alexis said, those who really have the strong skills charge as much as they do (often much more than the $1000 you mentioned), because they already have proved their skills. Their portfolio should include samples, and they generally already can prove their ability to get conversions and earn their clients more than they're spending through past case studies. If you're looking for a serious copywriter, consider MarketJunction or Webgal if they're taking on these kinds of projects.
alexisarticles, i agree completely with all your points about taking a chance with "possible" commission. However I will provide detail informations and willing to do whatever it takes to generate that possible commission for the writer. The writer can evaluate all the informations beforehand (the product, the website, the targetted audience, total traffic, any marketing campaign to help) before taking on the project. I have sent out a few replies to some people that have PM me. I'm making this offer good for up to a whole month period if 2 weeks does not work out too well. I want the writer to be paid but I want to make sure my ROI is positive too. So if a writer is really confident in their ability and everything else is in place (the product and website), then this should be worth more then their normal pricing for a sales copywriting. I am not putting a cap on the total possible comission other then the time period. If it works out well, I will continue the relationship with the writer and order tons more sales copy once I see its beneficial to me. So it should be a fair offer.
Hmm.. I must admit I am not getting paid for thousands for the copywritings that I have done before this. So, let me know if you want me to do this for you I have sent you a PM. Let me know if you're interested with the deal. It's still a win-win situation, right? Take it or leave it. Cheers.
Just curious.. was your 0 conversions product that green tea crap that way too many others are doing? If so, don't be surprised at your 0 conversions, and it has little to nothing to do with your copy... there's something shady going on. I can give you a link to more info if you need it.
I'm not sure what green tea you are talking about? We run an onlines news publication on wedding fashions and looking to selling wedding items. There is nothing sketchy here.
