Why do The Perfect Google allow criminals to use blogspot?

Discussion in 'Google' started by alansingapore, Aug 22, 2008.

Why do Google allow criminals to use blogspot and not have a way to inform them that they need to be taken down.

We keep our sites free from scammers and allow our members to report any suspicious activity; this results in posts like this:

    http://kaqoo.com/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=3266#p3266

How is one meant to report these sites to Google?

Every free blogspot blog has a top bar with a "Flag" link to report an inappropriate content.

I don't know. At least it is supposed to work.

Maybe they need to visit each site and make sure it really infringe their rules before taking the sites down. Given the number of "law quality" sites hosted on Blogger, this can be very time consuming task.

It is amazing how many Nigerian scammers are on blogspot; they must be laughing all the way to the nearest Western Union office.

I am really becoming sick with Google and their ambition to hold all the worlds information. "Do no evil". Don't make me laugh!

No, they aren't unstoppable. Just flag when a Nigerian IP address pops up and makes a blogspot..... I am sure there are more criminal sites from NG than genuine ones.

I think that it's a trade-off between free Internet (free information) and pure Internet (pure information). And Google is not the one who can solve this problem...

The only one that can act on removing these blogs is google. Sometimes one single complaint may not get their attention but if a lot of people keep flagging the same thing, then google will really look into it.

OK I checked the 'flag' again. No matter which choice you make from the following, you have to jump through hoops to report a site:

Please select the type of violation that you'd like to report:
    Defamation/Libel/Slander (Learn more.)
    Copyright/Piracy issues
    Spam (Learn more.)
Adult or pornographic images (Learn more.)
    Hate or violence (Learn more.)
    Impersonation
I need to contact another user
Someone is posting my private information
I think someone else is using my account

Choose spam and you get guff. They need another flag, "Set up by Nigerian scammer".

well.. leave it. We can't do anything to stop the spammers (on blogspot). Try to concentrate on your own sites rather than wasting your time visiting those spam sites.

Choose spam only if you were spammed.
How do you know they are from Nigeria? and what did they actually do to you to get you so worked up?
If they have done something illegal, and you have proof, then lay a complaint with the police, then provide a copy of the police report to Google.

If you are flagging blogs because you think they belong to someone who lives in Nigeria, and you do not have any proof of illegal activity, then you are just wasting Google's and your own time.

    Cheers
    James

    tattoos,

Please, get a life. These same people register with Kaqoo using false USA names and addresses from a Nigerian IP. Of course we know. Check a few on the list at Kaqoo.

Report to the Police? No-one has that much time, there are too many. Please read the thread to find out why it is an issue for us.
