Any ideas why my site is earning less than $1/day despite receiving around 600 uniques each day :S
People with similar sites tell me they are making around $5/day with a similar traffic level.

I hardly see any content, just basically ads

no doubt your visitors eyes are as frustrated as mine were, that doesn't make them likely to click

There's plenty of useful tools on there, just choose from the navigation menu on the left. unique features like www.yourspacezone.com/animals and www.yourspacezone.com/graffiti

But good point, I am looking to hire someone that can do a redesign, so i can add more content and go for better ad placement.

    Here's my tip:

    1. Remove the "advertise on this site" link
    2. Change the link color to blue and the url to gray (999999)
    3. Remove the images, it's not catchy
    4. Replace the 300x250 with a 336x280
    5. Change the link unit's color to a darker color
    6. Replace the ad on the right with a wide skyscraper

Your articles need to be a bit longer. Put content on your home page, if you can't come up with a home page intro, then rotate your articles so something is on there.

you dont need much content for sites like these. you just need a lot of tools. plus this is an ugly turnkey script so that may be why

It also depend on your traffic and how they are getting to your site. Where are the 600 per day coming from.

I am making $5-$10 per day on 500 visitors per day here:www.magxzine.com

But a lot of the traffic is coming from SEs for myspace search terms.

My opinion is that the ads are too evident in your site.
    Try to blend more.

okay will do thanks - the ad areas do seem quite distinctive. I think maybe if i redesign and make it 950px wide then I will be able to add more content and get better ad placements.

Okay, I have removed the square ads that were high up and put them down the page, replacing them with text, introducing the site and some of our unique features. Do you think this will work better for me?

that is horrible... you should do something to improve it, less than $3 for 1000 uniques is no good
