I was checking out a site that has a traffic ranking of roughly 8000 in Canada according to Alexa and checked the admin page and its admin username/pass were admin/admin :). WTH

It probably doesn't get a lot of traffic. But it is website for a popular entertainment venue. Funny yet what the hell at the same time!

I was not trying to hack it. I was just checking out the site. Happened to test the admin area and that is what happened and if my intentions had been malicious I would have defaced the site by now, it is a pretty popular site. But that doesn't mean I am not thinking about doing something funny to teach them a lesson perhaps.

So have you picked up the phone and called them, or emailed them?

It would be more honourable than posting here!

Right thing to do would be to notify site owner.

If you don't notify the site owner, they might press charges on you. Remember, your IP is logged on the server and they will know when and where that user logged in. So you better tell them now before they take some actions.

Think how you would feel if someone compromised and/or hacked your site.

I know it was accidental and as humans we're naturally curious, but probably not a good idea to distribute this information.
