I joined linkmarket dot com and I wanted to know if exchanging links with users will help my Search Ranking? They are posting a link to my site on like a third subsequent page or something like that. Is this worth my time?

From my experience, link programs that you join are a waste of time.

I did it when I started out on the Internet and got nowhere.

You are much better off contacting websites yourself and asking.

    Hope that helps you out.

One way links are best. If your site offers quality content, webmasters will link to your site without having to exchange links. Automated "link exchange" programs are annoying, so avoid them. I receive tons of "I visited your site..." automated emails (Spam). Webmasters that respond to this by exchanging links don't have sites worth having a link on. The same goes for those who use these programs. As far as PR is concerned...the "little green bar" means nothing. Your site appearing in the SERP's for targeted keywords is what counts.

Search google for a page rank checker tool, or better still search digital point forums.

Link Market is a good source for site that want to link. But do not think that you will increase your page rank with links from them. Many of the sites will drop the link within 3 months, others apply the NoFollow attribute, others will have the link pages link with javaScript. And the games go on.

It is a good learning experience when you see the ways that they will cheat.

But heads up, Google will not look kindly on this.
And if you have competitors that are SEO savy, they will rat you out.

Just go slow if you do.
