I have made a little statistics and discovered that sites with many indexed pages are better ranked! Amn't I mistaken?:)

Amount of pages/content seems to matter a bit. Still you can find many almost empty sites that rank well also. Ranking algorithms are really sophisticated nowadays and each page ranks by different complex of factors.

I'd say it's the other way around. If you have a good rank most of your pages are probably indexed.

What do you mean? Of course you don't need a huge quantity of pages to rank good :).

Yeah, just look around, many aged keyword domains that have only single page with single sentence "this domain is for sale" rank on page 1 or 2 of all leading search engines. Also many parked pages rank high. Competing pretty successfully against PR 6+ relevant sites with lots of content and professional SEO

If they are quality, unique pages - then yes it is probably better to have more of them than less. Having more pages also increases your chances of getting some linkbait or juice from bookmarking.

Sometimes less is better, say if you're blocking duplicate content or mostly empty log-in pages.

in general yes, as long as you have enough PR to support them.

too many pages, not enough PR = most pages supplemental and not ranking.

it is a balancing act of number of pages versus sites internal (real) PR values

The more indexed unique pages, the more chance of getting found for long tail searches.

Just don't do something stupid and add 5000 pages to your site at once :)

I've seen it done and Google goes, wait a minute! The pages should build up gradually unless you're already a big site then it doesn't matter. But in general, "more pages indexed = google likes you"!

yes, the more indexed pages the better. just makes it more likely that someone will search and find one of those pages and continue on to the rest of your site.

The more pages are indexed, better result one can expect. But indexed unique contents shows better result.

My seo blog www.hasan-online.com has the best indexed rate out of my 10 websites - according to today's satistics - 504 pages are indexed in Google out of 540 pages, that about 93% pages are indexed!

Yea, this is the main reason why I am waiting for my lyrics website www.top-song-lyrics.com to be fully indexed as it is currently 160/500.. and then I'll make more lyrics pages (I got lots of work to do) and thankfully I've made a php script to make the lyrics pages really easily with SEO friendly titles/descriptions/URLs....

I'm not sure. I have a website optimized for one keyword...and the competitors vary greatly. The number one spot on Google has about 10 separate pages, each with a lot of good content. But, also in the top 5 results, there is another website with only a single page....and it only has one small low-quality paragraph. It is short and not helpful, so I'm not sure why it ranks almost as high as the other great quality/quantity site.
