I just started using it. I like it. it makes the VBulleting pages into readable names that search engines can index. It seems helpful for adsense because Google serves ads based upon keywords in the posts or information on the page. My site is still rough but I'm using at the site in my signature. Just click through to the forum. Thanks!
so it means the "only" reason to purchase this rather 'expensive' product is because it help index your page more? (DP does NOT use vbseo, notice that?)
DP has only got 941,000 pages indexed when there's 8.5 Million posts, nearly 1 Million Threads, 60,000 profile pages, nearly 1 Million archive pages and the list goes on and each one of these has it's own URL. Notice that? Having only 1/100th of your site indexed is pretty poor on-site optimization especially considering the link juice coming in to this place don't you agree? vBSEO does help fix the short comings in vBulletin, especially with the multiple URL's (duplicate content) and help consolidate link equity to the one version of content. You can fix all the major problems without vBSEO if you know what you are doing with hacks to the vB script and htaccess rewrites, but if you don't vBSEO is the simple way to do it.
personally after reading many comment, I would say 149$ is way overprice for new site. Some more, I could only see that with vbSEO, most of the thing it does it URL rewrite. Understand that it won't really matter much when it comes to the URL itself (it matter more to the tittle) << I've noticed that with my site. So yes: it won't worth it. Care to oppose my view? would love to hear why you think it worth it.
Rewriting the URL to plain keywords is probably one of the most trivial things it does, however it's the only thing people really see who don't understand SEO. Achieving link consensus is far more important, for instance each thread page has 20 extra showpost.php URL's like this one. So when your forum has 1,000 threads the PR is split between 20,000 needless URL's that just contain duplicate content. You tell me, would it be better if the Pagerank coming in from backlinks to your forum was targeted to 1,000 unique pages split between 20,000 duplicate pages? There's many benefits from an SEO standpoint besides "Pretty URL's", as i said if you know what you are doing you can do most of this yourself but if not vBSEO is a good option. If your forum isn't trying to earn revenue, or you believe vBulletin is perfectly SEO'd out of the box by all means forget vBSEO. Seriously $149 isn't much, if your in this game to earn a profit and can't make that back there's problems. I don't see it as a lot to give your forum the best possible chance for success.
thanks for trying. Yet, you have just give "one" SEO aspect about the duplicate content. Care to share more? I am still not convinced yet!
If this is a "Mod Rewrite of the URL" issue, then it has no value. Just create a proper XML sitemap will handle the query string issue. Google does handle query strings. Where there is a PR issue or specifically PR Feedback issue, this is a problem with the site's template and needs to be fixed.
VBSEO is easy to use, wraps some nice tools into one fully integrated with VB. So if your looking for a easy to use interface and the ability to export your settings its is nice. things I like - adds adsense script to all pages Pings blog sites after posts New version includes TAGS Exportable settings Support All these things are available from other places for free, but the product works seamlessly with VB. Pretty much you will be paying for the ease of use rather than all that it offers.
what you mean by TAGS? i thought VBulletin 3.7.2 already has that installed? and what is the point of using exportable setting?
