I read on this forum itself that you can make money with parked domain until you have actually sold off the domain name. Can someone guide me in the right direction regarding this ? Is adsense involved? Thanks and Regards, GAUHAR K.
Well you can make money with parked domains, but it all depends if they are getting traffic and second what they are related to. Some people have been making really good money with parked domains for others who start now its a bit more difficult. Also domains that earn good money are difficult to get because people sell them at expensive prices.
Domain parking can be good option for earning some extra cash if you have a large collection of domains, but if you are having only 5-10 domains its all on luck.
Many domain hosts will add adsense or other advertising to the parking page the automatically create for each domain, and some will give you the ability to share in whatever revenue those pages generate. I've done this with GoDaddy who, for a small monthly fee, will share revenue across any or all your domains parked with them. It's all about traffic, though. Domains that include searched keywords seem to do the best (not surprisingly).
If you are planning to develop the domain name on a later stage I would not recommend you to park it at all. This might be bad for your future endeavors because the domain could still be associated as a parked one by people.
Yes, adsense could be involved, depending on the parking company. Or it could be feeds from other companies like Yahoo, etc. If you're just starting out parking domains, try Sedo.com to start off with.
Sedo screws you when parking. You get far more money with any other parking company. Sedo only pay good fer very few expensive keywords, else it pay misarable PPC (not so rare to get only 0,02-0,08EUR fro business, trade, insurance, loan/mortgage domains). You can get 0,25-1$ anywhere else. Just see comparison of most favourite parking companies at this blog I found lately. NO referral links, no pop-unders, don't worry http://domain-parking-comparison.blogspot.com
parked domains only earn little for you, you'd better set up a site yourself and put ads there, you will make more.
lol wow i didnt know that. i should make a parked domain and test it out. could i add my adsense ads in it? and other thing?
I'm enjoying the revenue I make from parked domains. You can get lucky with some if you're picky or spend money to buy quality domains that will receive natural type-in traffic.
With parking, You just change DNS to parking company or forward the domain. They got Google or Yahoo AD feeds and no real content so CTR is much higher, PPC is lower then with adsense. But still it's fine, but just for domains You don't have time to develop or You just catched a drop with some remaining traffic.
IMO development is the best destination for a domain name, whether it be by you or an end-user. Parking is good in the interim but I personally feel it should not be the ultimate goal when registering or buying. As far as parking goes, a domain with potential for natural type-ins will fair the best with most parking services. A domain with some residual backlinks from earlier use might do well with some of the parking services as well. A brand new domain the likes of 78vc09m.info could remain parked for a year and never receive a singe visitor. Parking revenue is based on visitors and click throughs. . .
Yes, development is best if You got few good domains, good for SEO, easy to remember. But You need to update frequently and get fresh visitors to rise. But if You got 100 domains, no time for developement, parking is great way to getnice PPC with high CTR, You just need to have relevant ads from feeds and check archive.org for expired domains You've bought.
