How to get out of Google penalty box

Discussion in 'Google' started by mauiman, Aug 16, 2008.

If Google puts a site in the "penalty box", like takes a PR4 site and turns it into a PR0 site overnight, what can a site owner do to get the site out of the "penalty box" as quick as possible after fixing the situation that got the site into the penalty box to begin with?

I assume you are referring to PR penalty. Well you have to wait for the next PR update before the PR adjustment to be reflected.

IMHO you should try to write a letter to Google and wait increasing your inbound links.

You should try to figure out why you were penalized then you should fix the
problem then write google a letter.

I sold 3 links and someone who didn't like the people who were renting one of the links ratted on me. At least that's what appears to have happened.

Do you have reason to believe a letter to Google might make any difference?

    Thanks for your thoughts.

Are you sure that was the reason? How do you know someone wrote them? The only thing I could think of would be to remove those links, refund their money, and then write google and include a picture of a chalkboard saying "I will not sell links from my website" 100 times. Even then I don't know how they would take it. lol

Try getting better backlinks , add no-follow tag to the links going outside your site and google you should give your PR back

Normally you get plenty because of selling Links on your site , If you will remove all these paid links and submit your site to the goolge for reconsideration then you may have a chance to get site out of plenty box . I have restored my two blogs and now they have a good PR .. so you need to submit your site again for reconsideration but you just have to hope for crunchy Green Bar as lots of people don't get thier site restored !

    Regards,

Make a new site and forget about the old one. I believe this is the easiest way to get over this penalty crap!

Why are you so worry about PR? If you lost only your PR but not positions in SERP IMHO nothing to worry about. Just keep going to increase your inbound links and wait, and of course remove selling links or just add nofollow. Everything is gonna be alright :)
