    Hi i have a number of pages which fall into a category, i have read a bit about making the title unique. This is an example of the way my page titles are set up;

    Main category overview;

    Company name - Mercedes benz - BMW

    and then the individual subcategories;

    Company name - Mercedes benz

    Company name - BMW

    Is this the right way to go about it?

    I wouldn't use the company name in the title tag i don't really see the point of this as your trying to optimise your website for keywords related to your market not for your company name.

    Before you optimise your title tags you need to find keywords which have high daily searches with little or low competition this is done through keyword research. If your a beginner in the field of SEO which everyone was at one point then these two eBooks may help you they are free.

    http://www.back-links.org/All-in-one-free-ebooks.php

    The first one will help you understand how to target your keywords, what keywords to target for and the second will help you optimise your website for these keywords.

    Good luck.

    Consider adding potential Keyword Phrases in the title tags rather than just Company name, for example you can use mercedes benz dealer, mercedes benz usa, mercedes benz models, mercedes benz parts...

    You don't need your company name in your page title. Just have it in the text of your home page somewhere. You'll get enough links back to your site naturally with your company name that you'll be #1 in Google for your brand.

    Instead, focus on what bobchrist advised above. Find keywords that people will search on and get those words in your page titles and descriptions.

    Use Google's free keyword tool to find which keywords get the most volume and target the ones that have both teh most volume and weakest competition. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

    The tool actually has volume numbers now so it is invaluable.

    I recommend using the "phrase" vs. "broad" match option for more accuracy in the counts.

    Good luck!

    I would put the company name at the end AFTER 2-3 keywords. If you are just online then branding isn't as big of an issue. If you are building a brand offline and are doing other advertising and PR, then put your company name, but at the end of the title.

    Main Page:
    General keywords explaining entire site then company name

    Overview
    Mercedes Benz | BMW | Another type - Company name

    Subcategory:
    Mercedes Benz | related keyword | related keyword - Company name

    Product Page:
    Exact name, make, model - Company name

    If your company name has a keyword phrase then it's a good idea to put it on every page.

    You should put your site name at the end. Whatever your article is about, that keyword should be at the very beginning in the title.

    Never waste your page title using your company name. If people are searching for you by business name they will find you. Replace the name with your location.

    i think no problem
    domain name = keyword
    title = keyword
    conten = keyword

    but make it uniq by add one or 2 word like
    *** car/s
    *** store
    *** showroom
    etc

    I disagree with not using company name on your site if branding is important to what you are doing. IF it is then add it last in the title tag separated by a |. If branding your site is not important then don't worry about it.

    I've found that Google take a shine to Long Title names that are descriptive - No Longer than 65 Characters, but for Example, you homepage shouldn't be called "Homepage" each page should be uniquely named to the content that is on that specific page. For Example, BMW Mercedez - Then Sub Catagory",

    Good luck with promoting your site :)
