It depends on what type of traffic you want. Articles can give you targeted traffic but social sites (especially StumbleUpon) will give you traffic that is mostly useless for making money.
Yes, you are right. You can get traffic via all these 5 sources. But compared to SE traffic, these sources do not give much traffic. For example; traffic from social bookmarking sites is like automated traffic, you will not see much increase in earnings from such traffic. Article directories; I personally have submitted 100+ articles to top directories, but I get about 10 visitors only from these article directories.
Yes you are right, the ways you mentioned can give you instant traffic, but not stable traffic . As a webmaster I prefer the ways that gives me small but stable number of visitors, and adsense like the SE traffic .
You have explained nice points and if someone work on them than they can earn good money . But i will say try to enter in niche related forums this will help little more .
those are all good ways to get some traffic. and they can also help you a bit with the search engines since the links created on those blogs, forums, social book marketing sites, social networking and articles may be crawled by the search engines.
The ideas you wrote are good but there are many more ways of getting traffic to your website. Some of them i explained here and here. Step 5 again need all those traffic tips again in order to let everyone know that you have a blog too, so I don't find it too much effective.
Yes abhik it is but i don't think so that is give us traffic for long time , but we can get good backlinks if our content is quality one and luck works .
