Great article and interview where the son of Hamas leader has left Islam and turns to christianity. He talks about how he feels as if most muslims do not understand their religion or understand any other religion as well.

He also talks about some of the horrors of Hamas and how they torture people.

That's one brave man. He knows full well he will be marked for execution for the rest of his life, for leaving "the religion of piece."

I wish him the best in life.

Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire. Here's a suggestion for him, How about turning your back on islam and then not replacing it with any childish fantasy.

It's true. In fact, if one can wade through the bullshit perpetrated in the name of religion, he/she can clearly see that the core of any religion is all about a set of principles which state how to live your life. A man who has his brains in the right place need not seek religion to understand what is right and what is wrong. He knows it. He can lead a perfectly normal life without seeking religion. It's more like a luxury, not a need.

What would an extreme Christian be to you? (Being one who follows Christ fully would be a definition of an extremist Christian)

It would be one who denies all we have learned from science that doesn't fit what's written in their book, and tries to undermine science education in order to spread the ignorance required to believe in their fantasies.

No religion is light or moderate. It's believers have to believe they have the ultimate unquestionable truth and that everyone else is wrong. How can someone possibly believe they are in possession of a book written by god and remain "light/moderate"?

Like cientificoloco points out, Even the so called "light/moderate" christians today have to be deceitful, dishonest, undermining science and deceiving children. Christianity now is a cult of deception and lies, It has to be to allow it's believers to continue to believe in something which is patently untrue.

it's time we got rid of it. it's followers are untrustworthy and it's myths are intellectual poison.

Its called faith Stox. Ever heard the country song " you got to stand for something or youll fall for anything"? Im christian , but maybe in your mind it means i have to lie to protect my belief but that doesnt make it fact. It seems like you have a hidden bias towards any religion but thats really your problem to work out. I have friends from all religions and even athiests but i have never attacked them because of their beliefs. You prove to me without a shadow of a doubt that my beliefs or anyone else's beliefs are 100% unequivicably wrong and i am all ears.

By the way , sticking to the main subject, the guy has some major guts to take the step that he took. Hopefully ill get to meet him sometime as im in san diego also.

Do a search on google for atheism and you will a million times more anger spewed forth by atheists than all major religions combined.

What is the difference between the prejudice that you spread against religions and the prejudice that some religious people spread against u?
To me its just another case of the pot calling the kettle black. The true basis of most religions is belief in a higher power and the spreading of love. Now whether human beings carry this belief out is another story.

Name any scientific discovery that is verifiable that contradicts the Bible.

You can go on and on like some clueless member here that always says dinosaurs, but that will make everyone laugh.
