Forums do help to get traffic.... And you get good traffic from signatures as well.. provided the signatures are written well and you genuinely help people. Cheers, Anup
Get good quality posts such as reviews or research ones are great as are free lists of places to get more info - like places to generate backward links etc. Also for an idea check out the posts which have lots of views, will show which posts are more popular.
From what I can tell I haven't had heaps of visitors from my sig in forums. However, I have had a few sales from those visitors. So it's definitely good quality traffic!
I find that the traffic I get from forums really converts well, and is really great for traffic. I find that my product works really well in the work at home moms arena, but I'm in this forum to learn. Very valuable information from reliable sources.
Hello MarketExpert, Posting in forums can be great for traffic but you dont want to go into related forums signup and just start to spam the community with your website links. Contribute to the website, give free guides, information, videos, help, tutorials etc and build up your reputation. From previous tests that I have ran in the past I was able to gain 100 visitors a day to a brand new website just from a link in my signature. Dont forget it, test it and see and remember to use a tracker or counter so that you can see where your new traffic is coming from. A great counter and tracker that I use is statcounter.com its free and I recommend it to everyone. Yours, Laura_D
I find that signature links and RSS feeds work really well. Just need eye catching, interesting links.
If you really help people out then you will do well. help people out as much as possible and it will come back to you.
yes.. i found out, some of my visitors in my site came in forum sites... through posting signatures..
I think sig advertising works well for niches like IM but for others... a lot of places don't allow any links at all in the sig which makes things hard. I have still gotten click throughs though from profiles which was surprising but I doubt that'd be heaps effective for traffic or even backlinks.
See it as a shop keeper. If they genuinely help you without seeming to want to sell you something, you are more likely to buy from there. If, the moment you go in to a shop, the shop keeper comes and harasses, you're likely to leave that shop right away. Contribute suitably to forums and learn a lot through reading comments / posts / pages etc
Posting in forums does work but takes a lot of time to do. I prefer writing articles and submitting to directories. http://www.lootswoop.com/rebate_processor
Even if it takes hours and hours on end, and still no sales? Even if it takes up to sevearl hours a day of posting and posting and posting and posting, just to see minusule traffic? Even if just about all of the traffic backs out again? Hmm, even when I was a noob, I had enough common sense and active brain cells not to do it. But, hey, to each their own.
I just checked my stats and I get a good amount of traffic, but not as much as when I posted everyday.
I think it helps a lot to post in Forums but its the time aspect that lets me down as for some reason my wife does seem not understand the logic behind it.They think we are trawling the Adult sites But my Free Ads Forum is a good place to promote sites
Is this article and result not enough evidence? See how forums drive traffic... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=980210
I actually have decent results with forums. However, it depends on the forum, and the people who are in it, how badly they want more information, etc. Signature lines work fine for me.
