shifting to blogger custom domain and SERPs..

    hi there..

i have a blog on blogger since January.. it has a pagerank of 3 and is getting 1000 unique visitors from google daily.. now, i am thinking to register my own domain and use the blogger's custom domain feature.. i mean i ll still be using blogger's structure.. i ll just change my domain name.. (the reason for my willingness to change my domain name: i think a .com domain name instead of a .blogspot will be more catchy for my users..)

now, the question is: if i do this, am i gonna lose my SERPs, google rankings and pagerank? i read a few blog posts about this issue, but i couldn't find a definite answer..

    have you ever done this?
please share your thoughts and experiences..

I would be interested in hearing what others have to say about this matter myself.

Before giving answer to that question i wanna make something clear here...............

Are you going to remove your all post from bloggers to new domain or you wud leave your post in blogger and just redirect your blog to new domain. And start posting your new posts in new domain...............

What's your plan about blog content just explain.................

Having your blog under your own web address (domain) is much better. It brings value to your blog.

i know it does.. but, i am not sure moving a .blogspot blog to a .com domain after 10 months of posting period and having moderate SERPs is a good idea..?

I think it is not a great idea.. Because, from August 1st, Google isn't crawling the blogspot blogs that are using custom domains. Try to google, you'll get lot more information about this.
    thanks.

Allow me to speculate. Since the blog would still be resident with bloggers and the feature you listed ( I believe is under advance settings) acts like a redirect, you should keep your PR and your organic rankings. However, to be a 100% sure why not raise the question with the bloggers team and see what they have to say on this issue. My take would be - go for it.
