    is the directory submission is right way to achieve Higher PR ?
    what is the other method by using that we can increae our PR

    just concentrate on building backlinks and quality content, dont chase PR, if you had overdone the building work in short amount of time then you might face penalty and your doings will went into hell.

    Yes directory submissions are most easiest, convinient and cheapest ways to get backlinks and it helps you too. Just remember to use various titles and descriptions while building links. Happy SEO :)

    Don't chase PR. It's not worth it, unless you're a link pimp.

    If you do decide to chase it, buying sitewide links on high PR sites is the best method.

    i hve submitted my site in near about 1000 directory and also putted regular links in some direcotries....but problem is when i m checking my site's backlink in backlink finder it is showing less backlinks ...

    you have to wait for the approval of your submission. A free general web directory can approve your link from anywhere between 24 hours to six months.

    As others have said, you should be worrying more about getting related links with good anchor text to increase your position in the SERPs. But, since you want to know about PR I'll tell you. With free web directories you can get your site to a PR3 (or PR4 if you submit to thousands of them). To move to a PR5 and above you need to attract either some very high PR links or get a lot of PR4 and PR5 links. This usually takes good content that others see as valuable to their visitors.
