Hey there. In a few days I will be purchasing a yearly plan of hosting from Hostgator, thing is, while searching for coupons, I ran across this in Google: http://www.web-host-coupons.com/hostgator-special-offer.php It seems legit. I'm just wondering if anyone here has done this before / any experience with offers like this. I don't feel like starting off my hosting "life" with a scam Thanks.
Go to HostGator and order your hosting and use the coupon beach, I've confirmed the coupon does work but unless you really want that crummy flash drive just go to the HostGator site.
Ah yeah I know the code works, I tried it and all, I'm just wondering if the flash drive offer is legit...
Be careful. You might end up getting a flash drive but for next year, you'd be billed $35! (hah, just remembered register (dot) com's odd offer)
Seems legit but unless you really want that flash drive, just go sign up from HostGator. Just wondering, but why are you so fixated on Hostgator?
Hostgator, Dreamhost, LunarPages and a few others give you a huge commision if you drive new customers to their sites, and that includes offer discount coupons or give away something like that USB flash drive. The drawback is the price you have to pay in the next billing cycle, whether monthly or annually.
I moved from hostgator since they closed down my websites with not telling me and sometimes closed email accounts. Ok support but not for the active webmaster
You'll be signing up on an affiliate link, meaning they earn $100 and the $20 USB drive is nothing compared to what they will make. You'de be better off paying $0.01 with a HostGator coupon... createamoneymakingsite.com/2008/07/05/cheap-hosting-review-hostgator-coupo/
Yeah I heard about that $0.01 hosting for a month. Nothing special, since I'm buying hosting for a year, and I get 20% off with BEACH.
I also used the coupon code david on the hostgator website and got the first month for just $0.01. It works OK (I am currently hosting only 1 affiliate website) and I paid for the next month too. The good thing about HostGator is that you can pay monthly
Here's what you should do. Get your domain from Godaddy as it's cheaper than going through hostgator ($15) plus it keeps your domain separate from the host, in case that relationship ever goes south. ( it can happen). Then get your hosting using whatever code hostgator offers whether that be only paying a penny for the first month (but first month only) or saving more by paying for a year and using the 20% off code. A 4GB Sandisk cruzer is far from crappy too. A crappy usb would be a brand you've never heard of before. You'll also more likely to get it than the rebate. And all hosts other than freeones , offer a money back guarantee so if you don't like the host, cancel before the mbg ends and try someone else.
I have used Hostgator for almost a year now and have been very pleased with them and their service. I find their online chat technical support to be very helpful and convenient. And you know what? I call their tech support phone line and get the same people on the phone that I chat with. They seem to know their stuff...and they speak English! I personally am happy with them...they suit my needs.
