Does everybody sell ebooks in pdf format? Creating pdfs is not a problem for me, I can do that in Open office. I'm looking for something that exports it in exe format.
Creating the ebook in pdf is a much better solution because then you ebook will be portable and will be able to run on windows, linux and apple macs not mention pda's ,etc. However if you choose exe than your stuck with windows If you want to still create an exe file just searcg google for free pdf to exe converter
I too am partial to Open Office for creating ebooks in PDF format. You just can't beat the price-to-performance ration.
Yes, mostly do. People tend to think an exe file is a virus. Beside that, if you're using exe, buyer who is using a Mac can't open it on their computer.
The best way is always to convert your doc to a pdf file, I think. Try searching for software that will help you do so.
No second thought, use pdf for your ebooks. Don't get too hung up with how to create ebooks. Make things easy and get the selling going. If you don't want to spend money buying software, try PrimoPDf or PDFcreator. They are free. What you need to do is write your book in Word and print it to the PDF converter by selecting "Printer"
However Open Office is a full suite of applications using Java, and this is truly annoying if you prefer not to install this plugin or you get rid of it, while Acrobat is everyday more complex to handle. I prefer a simple and effectve solution that works with almost any application with printing ability, www.dopdf.com
I use open office to write my eBooks then just convert them to PDF, however remember to keep a second back up copy in ODF format just incase you have forgot to change/edit something.
Hello Napoleon, To create an ebook you just need a word document and then you can convert it into a pdf file. Years ago you made the ebook in a executable file but they in my honest opinion were hidious. You can download a fantastic program that I use and best of all its free, its called open office, run a basic google search for "download open office" its like microsoft word only it has a built in pdf converter. Yours, Laura_D
I'm not planning to sell the book, its a weekly magazine sort of. It will contain a lot of lonks, that is why I'm worried about using the pdf format.
