Where to find good writer?

Discussion in 'Copywriting' started by ckdavidd, Aug 9, 2008.

I hired some writers in Scriptlance. At first time, I get very good service. However, at the second time, they always use some excuse to delay the job or no communication. It makes feel no one is reliable in SL. I just wondering where I can find a good writer?

Hey, I highly recommend http://www.textbroker.com When you sign up (free) you get $5 added to your account with which you can use to order your first article (so no cost to you up front to try it)

I am not associated with the company but I am using their services. I can tell you that the quality of the articles is excellent.

There really isn't any secrets to finding a good writer. Just like finding a contractor or plumber - keep trying until you find one that's a good fit for you. You could try asking other webmasters for recommendations. You could also find some terrific writers right here in this forum. Check out some of the signatures and you will find some fantastic writers.

Of course, only you know what kind of writing you are looking for and how much you have for a budget. Those variables will usually have an impact on which writer is best for your needs.

You may have some luck in the "Content Creation" forum but be prepared to wade through the crap to get there. You may want to test out new writers with small, less important projects to see how they are with consistency, quality and deadlines. Just keep in mind that quite often the old adage "you get what you pay for" will apply.

    Good luck!

"You get what you pay for" is not always an accurate way to measure quality, specially here at DP where people have stated this fact too many times.

Now the trend is reverting, there are members who said they are willing to take a writing job for three times their former prices as a way to pretend... proficiency?, quality?, expertise?

I'm not sure, but you can find through their replies a very poor English command associated to high rates or another fact "I'm bazed in the YuESei"

Not exactly the way they claim it, but similar "gremar" ;)

Fantastic writers are not hard to come by, its just hard to find those that can write in the desired niche. I am a wonderful article writer, but I cannot always write wonderful pieces. It depends solely on the subject in mind.

There are other places where you can post the job. Make sure to request sample clips so you can read the caliber of their work, and make sure they can work in your niche.

Take some time reviewing old threads posted in this forum and you will find places to post your request.

I read a few days ago about elance, getafreelancer, rentacoder, and others I don't remember (and haven't tried) but members posted their feedback on them.

I am glad you found an article source that you like. To my mind, there are no good or bad writers, only writers who are right for you or not.

It all depends on your requirement: if you need someone to churn out SE fodder, any odd writer who delivers on time will be good. If you are looking for writing with a good voice in a particular niche, your search may be longer.

I posted another 3 articles in http://www.textbroker.com/ on Aug 12,08. selected the price is $1/per 100 words. Up to now, no one take my order. Also I get notification to suggest me to raise the price to higher level.

It seems that It is not easy to get article for $1/per 100 words.

See, getting a good writer at that rate is not easy, but you can still look out for people working at that rate here at DP. You see, a lot of writers from third world countries like India (me being one of them), would be more than happy to work at that rate because it is actually a sizeable ammount for such writers. About the quality of articles, sir, you can't really be sure with the quality at that rate.
My final suggestion- Try giving out a few articles to some of the lower cadre writers and see if that suits you and fits your requirements.

At $1 per cento words, that's just a penny per parola.

I've posted jobs @ that rate and had to beat off people with a bastone.

.... doing my best to not make 100% sense in my posts anymore . . .

    Ciao!
