If it includes keywords that you are targeting then it will help for those keywords.

It is the third or fourth most important SEO element needed.

It should have the keyword phrase in it. Max three words.
If necessary, you can use Hyphens (-).

    Use only .COM or .NET

And the most important advise will be age of the domain. (buy an existing one). If it is new, then you will have to put up with the Google sandbox. And even then, the age of the domain has become very important.

Hint: If you buy a new domain, before you start the web design, put a page up to start the Google "Clocks". It it take you 3 months to build the site, then you will be three months ahead.

Keyword in domain name does make some difference but it is just one ranking factor. There are actually two aspects:

    - keyword in domain gives you some additional relevancy points
    - all your backlinks include your keyword

Still good domain without keywords is usually better choice than ugly long keyword name with two or more hyphens. For instance only 5 of top 10 Google rankings for "seo" and 0 of top 10 rankings for "search engine optimization" have keywords in domain. So, it gives you some small advantage but don`t overestimate this factor.

It is absolutely one of the most important SEO factors. But it won't go a long way on it's own. If you can dub it with proper title tag and keyword rich content, you're on top of it.

Yes domain name gives an advantage to your website by using your major keywords of your niche, because once the robots crawl your website having those keywords on your domain name the robots already notice that the site is for that category by the help of keyword on the domain and especially by using a hyphen for example

IT Can Useful but only Little bit.

I found many Top Ranking sites are coming without keywords in domain name, its just depend on your Content + on page + off page, that's it.

For example Bigmouthmedia.com , this is a Top company in SEO of US/UK but their website marketing techniques are better than other companies.

    thanks
    Eric

Keyword associated in your domain name will also have impact. Although it's quiet less but still can help your keyword serp ranking.

If your product or service keyword is in domain name than it will help you in SEO little bit. But some companies have no meaning of domain name than also they are very famous and had good traffic as well as good SERP. For example

    godaddy
    digital point

    etc...

So it is important but not that much, if you serve high quality products and services than your site will get good SERP and PR.
