Looks Like EPN Just Terminated a Lot of Partners

Discussion in 'Commission Junction' started by potentmix, Aug 8, 2008.

Quite a bit of consternation in the affiliate world. Lots of nervous nellies, and for good reason. Many of today's terminations appear on the surface to have no basis.

I seem to recall seeing that the new quality ratings are being made available around Aug. 9. This action may have been taken in anticipation of that upcoming event. This is rank speculation, but wouldn't it make sense to cull out partners who fail to meet a certain threshold vis a vis the quality ratings before going public with them?

I have been terminated as of 8/15! This sucks I was making most of my money through eBay...now I will have to go back to the drawing board! I just started a new site based around eBay too...I am not happy right now.

Are you able to tell us apx how much you were making per day/month using ePN. And how were you promoting them?

This isn't good news for anyone.

If ebay gave you 7 days until your account is closed, then it is generally for what they consider low quality. They generally cancel your account immediately for TOS violations

    I reckon you're spot on.

Just dump all the low quality partners and keep all the high quality ones. Saves your bandwidth, overhead, support staff not having to respond to stupid questions. Smart move by ebay I think.

Now support can get around to answering REAL questions and affiliates who know what they are doing can finally communicate more efficiently with ebay to build the system.

I too just got terminated from EPN -- for "non bona-fide transactions." WTF?????? They owed me over $1000. I sent a note back requesting reinstatement but I don't expect to hear anything. How can a transaction be non bona-fide when the user has to either sign up for eBay or buy/sell something?

One of my sites with EPN got hacked a few days before, and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.

One way around the banning, if you're U.S. based, is to use Pepperjam instead. For those who've been running RSS or the API, you can buy BANS which allows you to set up feeds through Pepperjam.

I know, I know, there are some who post here who'll provide a long list of weapons grade objections to BANS, none of which are justified, IMO. You can believe what you want. I'm simply suggesting an available alternative.

At the moment, BANS is undergoing some upgrading and won't be available until Aug. 13.

If you'd like to join BANS, you can click on my affiliate link in my sig.

I think eBay may have had something to do with it but then again I really dnt knw? Then I get a msg from them saying my account was being terminated as of 8/15?? I have followed their regulations and didn't break any of their rules..I sent them a msg back but still no response..
