    Absolutely right :)

And will take also long time to approve if you have not any experience to choose directories for submission.

For some positive and good response from directories you should submit your site to minimum 1000 seo - friendly directories with little variation in titles and descriptions.

If you have good collections of directories then you can get more than 60% results but you can not get 100% results in any case.

    Thanks :)

In a years time, around 85% should have reviewed you. Those that haven't clearly weren't worth submitting to, and are obviously just waiting for paid submissions.

yes absolutely right, for better approval ratio chase new born directories instead of high pr directories. pr is just a number game which changes oftenly. Who knows that the new born directory which u had submitted today might turn into high pr by next update. Just remember that every backlink adds value to your site :).

Yeah. So people will see the huge pending queue and submit as featured to get ahead.

Forget submitting to 10'000 directories, that will only waste your tme, 50 b2b ones is sufficient. But get as many normal link swaps as you can.

Just find a web directory list and start pounding your way through it 15 minutes every day. Make sure you also add yourself to any new directories. You'll wake up in 6 months with hundreds of directory links and also see your site ranking for a lot of search terms. I've used this method for a couple of sites and within a year have made it to the first page of google for hundreds of terms that bring hits to my sites.

One thing to remember is that web directory submissions should be part of an overall link building strategy. Don't limit yourself to just web directories.

I think out of 100 dirs, 80%-90% should review you site. And how many will accept is heavily depend on your site itself + details you used.

    Good Luck

Isn't this a bit counter intuitive? Google recommends submitting to relevant directories as well as to other "industry-specific expert sites" but recommends against "excess" reciprocal linking (link swaps).

directory submission is the easiest way to build back links. just like other said there are still many other ways to get backlinks. just do all of ways you could find and you will get good no. of back links.

Are they worth even the thoughts of exchanging links to those low pr directories?

It depends of the directory list you use. Standard directory lists overlook the activity (New Additions/Time) of the directories which they list. You can try linksadmin.net, there we discern the directories in order their activity.

So many directories don't deliver squat in terms of traffic or PR. 95% are worthless as resources, are only after submit fees and that's it - zero value.

Swapping links with related industry sites is always the best option, and beats directories hands down, just on the fact there are more related sites than related directories to swap with, and that will never change. Ultimately you want to link with related, useful sites for the traffic they will send, and the usefulness for your visitors.
