I'd be more than surprised if Hotfrog isn't a registered Trademark. Nonetheless, follow CReed's advice

 

Yes, you can assume it's trademarked:

Copyright belongs to Reed, who are the largest niche portal site operator probably in the world.

Only problem with Reed is the sign-up process, it seems lengthy in that I had to wait weeks to be listed with another of their portals. Can't say I get any traffic from them though, nothing has ever shown up in my logs, and was listed with them for 12 months at least - but it is a General directory so no surprises there.

Recommendation:

Waste of time

 

Please refer me to where I assumed this? My post inclined that I knew it was, but had a case of going to prove it. (ie. It's best to warn the directory owner it could be trademarked - but felt it unnecessary to go to lengths to prove it, as Hotfrog are quite a big company, as you know.) Here's the proof, should you need it.

Hotfrog is a new directory, but all Reed would have done is to transfer 3 million results from their other portals. They did the same with Zibb - a b2b directory, so I don't see the point in duplicating results all the time.

Seems to be an awful lot of this on the web, with little clear advantage for advertisers apart from an extra weblink. Seriously, I got no traffic from Hotfrog - despite ownership by Reed.
