i agree people work for cheap but then again its not only Indians doing it they dnt all put a board on them saying i am Indian & i work for peanuts. Anyways i agree that people are expecting less prices now days but then don't accept work from them & talk to other people also who are ready 2 work for cheap tell them its not worth it. Just the other day i had someone offering me 10$ to upload 50 gb data & then upload it again i m like hell no that's not even worth it. So just talk it out with people & if necessary then everyone stop working for few days on here & see the result people will come begging to you for the quality they need. Thanks

Well just quick facts to give a quick info about India. 2nd most populated country (nothing to proud), largest outsourcing hub for global market after China (that is something nice), Largest pool of IT people (more than total population of few developed countries), Largest country with BPOs which need communication with clients from different geographies (including US, UK, Canada etc. and you still say they don't know English?). I am trying not to sound like offensive but the real cause is difference in currency rates. $1= 42 INR (approx.) So if one works out a project in $100, same can be taken by Indian in $50. And you argue with quality factor. The pool which works here on DP from India is of 18-23 Yrs age group. So how can you think about quality term compared to Ex. people. And by saying so, I don't want to say all do low quality work. But still no one complaining about quality because they are happy to spent less $$. @regarding cost of nice car in india? Well Indian car maker who are supporting Nissan and Renault for there projects have comeup with cheapest car, and you know what , it will costs about $4000 and at the same time Audi's and Mercs are on roads. Normally cheapest car is of aroun $7000-$7500. Nice club entry for a couple costs around $300, and you still think that $10 is enough for a perfect date. Gimme break. I have got some quality content from India and I have gotten garbage from the U.S. before, when someone is making $5 in the U.S. it is nothing it is not worth spending time on, in India you can probably buy a few things with $5. It’s all about cost of living where you are trying to make a living. According to the CIA fact book the per capita cost of living for 2007 Per capita income India $2,700 Per capita income U.S $45,800 Per capita income U.K. $35,100 Per capita income Germany $34,200 If you have to make $40,000 a year to survive and you work 300 days a year you have to clear $133. a day. If you have to make $3000 a year you have to clear $10 a day. $133 a day compared to $10 a day that a big difference that’s why people can work for less.

Compare car prices for toyota camry for example in US and in India. Or pair of levis jeans. Or nice laptop. And so on. $1000+/month salaries are in india as well, but rent will cost at min $300-$350 in that towns. No offense to Indians, but I spent the afternoon checking some offers at the Buy, Sell and Trade forum and for those members offering $0.000001 per word (article writing) there were 9+ answers from people whose location said India and half of them with impressive iTrader just for the same, they get tons of projects because work almost for nothing
Michelle, you are right, but they don't work, they simply use plr articles without changes or something like that. Why do you think they work actually ? They are just scummers. And itraders means nothing. There are lot of scums with itraders itself.
You guys have an interesting discussion going around in here. I'd just like to state my opinions, and I am in no way trying to offend anyone of any nationality/race. I am frequently looking for some web designers because I (or sometimes, my friends) need designs to be done. I post a thread in the Services/Design section and I wait for people to reply. More than 50% of the time, I get offers from Indians who like to show off their portfolios, saying that they've been designing for x years already and have really good experience with insert some software here. Not only that, they have really cheap rates, like $40 per design, because they either have this special offer or they consider me as a friend (and I don't even know them!). Of course, I become curious with their offers. Besides, it's really rare to find quality designers who charge for cheap! Then I check their portfolios and get disappointed. I see a bunch of images designed by seemingly 10 year old kids. Geesh, even I could do those stuff! And I'm not an artist! So you see, these Indians really try to make you think they really know what they're doing, but apparently, they don't. I had another experience a few months ago. I was looking for content writers, and then there's this Indian who sent me a PM saying "hi friend i wud lyk to work 4 u i am a quality writer i charge $0.005 per word fast turnaround plz reply". Well, something along those lines but you get the point. He claims that he's a quality writer and yet he couldn't send a well-constructed message. How lame is that?
To be fair this occur with kids of every race, who pretend to be adults and sell sub standard designs or stolen designs. It is common everywhere and not limited to Indians.

People in the U.S. can’t spend all day making $10 because we would be homeless on the street. Obviously people in India can work for $10 a day and make a living because they are doing by the millions and seem very happy to do it. I have nothing against India, China or any other country. Just when people say India is as expensive as the U.S and Europe I call Bullshit. Yeah, it is as expensive to buy imported luxuries but general cost of living is way cheaper and that is why people in India can work for cheaper. But India better enjoy it because parts of Asia are cheaper to live and a lot of Asians are getting into the field and I’m sure they will start under bidding you guys.

Yes Imported luxury goods. Does rent and food cost the same? No O.K. they might not be happy I don’t know but they are working for it so it must be keeping them alive. It is about survival and people will work for what they can survive on in the U.S it as low as $50-$60 a day in other countries it is $2 a day. If it costs $2 a day to survive people will work for it. If it costs $50 a day to survive people will work for it. I make my money in the U.S. so it is great to go somewhere less expensive and spend it, I don’t work when I am there, global market make money where it is good spend where it is cheap. I love making money in better economies and living in less better ones. It not just India, Asia and the Internet it is all over. In the States the Mexicans come and work send money home and in a few years buy a home back in Mexico go back and live while it takes the Americans 40 years to pay off a home. I’m not saying people should work for less. Why would I want that? I just puts all the jobs in cheaper countries. I’m just saying it is cheaper to live in cheaper counties. It is a no brainer.
