    Hi

I'm running Adsense on my mobile phone portal for free themes and ringtones
    www.mobile-fun.org

These tips made a whole lot of change to my earnings and CTR:

1 - the border and background SHOULD be the SAME color and match
the background of your SITE !!

2- The text, title and URL SHOULD SHOULD be the SAME color and match
the background of your SITE !!

3 - Placement: the ads should be as close as possible to the main content

4 - put only 1 unit when you can or maximum 2 , to get the highest BIDS.
Don't use the large units all the time, use the smaller banner
or vertical banner if you can, they hold fewer ads so higher bids

    This sure is confusing.

Text, title and URL same as background?

He probably meant they should match you site's text/links.

    "

    "

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you meant exactly
2- The "title" should be the same color of your links and "text, url" should be the same color of your text!

Understandably we can't make those text ads have the same color as the background.. yes I know, I've tried in the past they always become white or black depending on the background_color set :) What you can do is push it to the limit of readability, but the best way, quick and efficient is to make like I said, title like your links and the url and text like your text color.

I would add some more tips:

    5. use the same font and size in your content CSS as the ads next to it. (beware adsense use different fonts for vertical and horizontal blocks)

    6. in CSS make the link looks the same as the ads (don't use a:hover to change the background color, and don't remove the underlining of links to look cool)

    Sorry for the confusion...

The url , text and title color should match the "text color" of your website
    and NOT the background !!

    So did you try both a all-3-same-color against a title-same-color-as-links and text-and-url-same-color-as-text ?
If so, you say that all 3 same color performs better?

second proposition, if your user clicks on 2nd or 3rd ad block, they hold the lowest ads (at least that's what i always thought, since i don't use a click tracking yet, i have only stats from adsense and that's not enough to be sure of anything)

What about having the text, the link and the background all the same colour? You wouldn't get banned then? :)

I found making the fonts of my links exactly the same as the adsense ones works well.

In adsense ads displaying at top does not compulsary belong to high bidding keyword, it's all about ctr. someone bidding higher than you might be at a lower position.
