It seems to me that many people are misunderstanding how AdSense works. It's quite simple. The below text is a mocking of an actual advertisement. Let me explain how Adsense and Adwords work.

    Ad block 300 x 250

    Top 10 Teeth Whitening

    Leading Teeth Whitening Programs Ranked
    and Ready to go.
    hellometro.com

    Arm & Hammer Toothpaste
Clean, Whiten & Restore Your Teeth w/ The Natural
    Power of Baking Soda
    MyOralCare.com

In Adwords, (the program that makes AdSense publishers and Google money) you have to make bids on specific keywords. The highest bidder will be listed on top. The highest bidder pays the most money to be on top. Thus, when the top link in the ad is clicked, you get a higher CPM / which is more money per click on average.

Having multiple ads on your page will make ALL of your ads less relevant to your sites content. Delete all your advertisements except your advertisement with the highest CTR.

If you do this I guarantee more money per click. Example: Maybe you were only getting $2 a day off of 20 clicks. You'll now probably get $2 dollars a day off of a 1/4th of the amount of clicks

Give it a try. I have also found that less ads sometimes increases CTR.

    Final TIPS

    1) Trust me on this. BORDERS SUCK on advertisements. Best ad placement is below the title of your post, but separated by something else because placing ads directly below titles that say something other than "advertisement" is against tos.

    2) Link colors blue - background white - border white - description text black - URL black for advertisements. TRUST ME.

    3) 300 x 250 earns more than 336 x 280.

    TTOM,
I took some of your advice from this thread last night and today my clicks have quadrupled. Is AMAZING!
But now I feel I need a script/software to protect my adsense from fraud click just in case.
Does anybody know of a google approved software (FREE) that I can use to protect my ads from click fraud?
The way my clicks (and earnings) are going, I feel I need protection FAST! HAHA!

    Thanks for the great tip,
    Ms. Pearl ;-)

yes... ads directly below title is normally the high performing ones... but 300 x 250 earns more than 336 x 280.... for this i gonna try out myself.

i also, i heed ur advice on using black for URL.... see if there are gonna be any good click for me.

Overall, ads placement and colors depend on your sites layout and colors.
Among other things. However, what I have told you is general info
to increasing money flow using AdSense.

I am still testing for better placement myself. I will keep you guys posted
    on any new info.

Really? Less ads = more clicks. I'll give it a try, but I'm skeptical.

    Depends on the site.
However, less ads = more money.

PS: Depends on the advertisers and your niche.

If you're talking about Mesothelioma - less ads or more ads, it probably won't matter.
Either way it's high paying. (Obviously higher paying towards the top of the ads
and lower paying towards the bottom)

I've tried this on one of my sites for 7 days,

and the results are as below. The ad unit was a 336 x 280 square

    impressions
    11,220

    Clicks
    261

    Earnings
    $52.99

I am going to try this again with two 336 x 280 sqaures, one on top of the post and one below and see the results.
