    Hi all,

Do you know if any CMS provider offer seo urls as standard?

It seems to me that Joomla is not offering this, which is really hard to understand.

    Any of the others?

I need it standard as Im not very good with the technical stuff (I run a forum using phpbb3 as well, where I was looking into the same functionality, but had to give up as I didnt understand the installation procedure for the mod... ;-)

That's correct but Joomla 1.5's SEF URLs still aren't quite *that* friendly... Joomla 1.5 is better at SEF URLs than Joomla 1.0 but still appends IDs to the paths which is better than it used to be but still leaves room for improvement.

If you can handle paths in the form of /section-name-sectionID#/category-name-categoryID#/articleID#-article-alias then that may be the level of SEF that you require. Otherwise use a SEF extension to take it further.

Depends on what you mean with SEO urls.

If you are looking for clean URLs you have it with joomla: site.com/category/view etc.....

If you are looking for keywords in the URLs you can also do it with Joomla: site.com/keyword/keyword2 etc...

    SEO with Joomla is easy.

Ah, I didn't know that. That's very strange as I've got a 1.5.5 development site which still dumps the IDs in my paths... maybe there's a config/setting I'm missing to switch them off?
