I just came across this article on Tech Crunch that says that Google is negotiating with Digg to buy their website for about $200 million. What do you think about this deal?

Wow. Google is already dominating the online market now and their operations are not only search related any more. Buying Digg will definitely make Google the leading player in Social Media circles as well. I don't know how this will directly Webmasters and Search engine marketing experts but I assume this will lead the way to a more integrated approach as Digg could be integrated with Google Webmaster control panel or Google Analytics. On a business and market level this will have a much greater impact I think.

Honestly, I think $200 million is a little bit low considering YouTube was bought out for over $1 Billion. Digg is a really popular site and I think it's probably worth AT LEAST $350 million.

$200 million is very low for digg.... I would say at least $400 million is okay.

I don't believe in terms of monetary value, Google would get a good ROI from Digg. YouTube is already proving almost impossible to monetize, with lawsuits and legal problems.

Google can easily develop a 100x more effective version of Digg for less than 100 million :) Digg probably wants 400mil +

agree with most of you.. 200 is not the right amount for it.. its worth more than that..
we know what youtube was and what it is now.. so DIGG can get further worked on and will be much more better if Google owns it finally..

Kevin Rose said he doesn't want to buy a sellout, but he probably would for the right money...
