How does article writing help?

This maybe a really newbie question but Im sorry. I've tried trawling through the forums search feature and have not found anything that answers my question.

I would like to know how does article writing and submitting articles to sites like ezine help?

For example, say you have a "how to do origami site."
How will a keyword rich article help drive traffic to your site?
Do you get to put links in your article?

Lastly, how do people find your article?

Any answers to the above will be much appreciated and +rep added.

-> Increase SERP and traffic thereby
-> When a person comes to ur article from SE's he may visit ur site too.

 

When you do a search in google, all the sites that appear is based on a certain ranking system that analyzes on the keyword placement and usage in the content. So if you have a keyword rich article that matches google criteria, that would place your sites among the top searches for that keyword search. That will drive traffic to your site.

But how does the article get linked to your site? Is there a link at the end or something?
And do people come to your site through the article - do they click the link in the article and how do they find the article - does it come up in google serp?

Are you looking for traffic generated from writing one article? Because I don't think you will get the traffic you want just from people "reading" the article - maybe just not much.
You are better off placing anchor text of "how to do origami" near the top of your article for a nice juicy backlink to your site.
With a well written article and relevant backlinks to your site you can improve your SERP and generate more traffic this way.
Submit the article to some high pr article directories such as ezinearticles.

So can I just clarify...I can write an article and use certain words (in the article) as links to my site?

No at you generally include links in the sig of your Article as an Author's Resource.

 

hmmmmmm, articles really help. just include "links" pointing to your page or website on the body of your article.
