I keep on getting below 60% and it's annoying. Has anyone passed the quiz in order to submit their sites?
I did, I'm an editor over there. Bad thing is that it is very difficult to get a site listed, you have to be 100% non-commercial
I also passed the test with 90 something percent. This was way back over a year ago. Site got rejected a couple of times, and then ended up being accepted by another editor. A listing in looksmart (in my experience at least) wasn't worth the effort of passing the test etc. Have gotten pretty much zero traffic from there. It never really had an impact on msn rankings either which is what prompted me in the first place to look into it. Just like any other link IMO..
same as others - including the problems getting past the .com filters - since about 2 years or so .. and i also actively crawled for grub.org for a while last year looksart, wisenut and zeal directory = one company last month December 2004 out of 1.66 Mio hits a total of 7 referrers out of ALL 3 a.m. SE belonging together this months until today zero referrers of all above. hence i belief its all wasted efforts
Yes, I did, with 90%. You have to literally stick to their rules to make it happen. But then, my site was refused since Zeal is a purely English speaking directory. Annoying to operate a single-language directory in these times.
But of course it is Anyways, I tried this a couple of months back... Don't actually remember if I passed, but I gues I didn't. Gonna give it a shot now as my ftp-acces to my webserver is down 2nd. day running But what to do when it's a free (and ad-free) service with otherwise great statistics?
Months ago I became editor, but didn't continue as they rejected my site. It included a small article on useful software for time management, and yes, about one third of the software I mentioned was commercial, the two thirds totally free, yet that was the reason for rejection. No affiliate, no such thing, just few short notes about each. Zeal seemed like tooo much of a zealous concept to me, and like with everybody else, didn't want to waste more of my time.
I did it just then and got 70%, still need some improving although I might give it another crack tomorrow when I am more awake. That was without reading which I didn't think was too bad.
Ditto....ditto....ditto Eventually, after complaining, a looksmart editor overuled and placed the site which achieved zero returns! Waste of time
Yeah I agree. I think I got one wrong for like a 95% or something. Just take your time and read them carefully. The one I got wrong I just misread the question. That said, I haven't even used my "editor" status for anything, since its really gotta be 100% non commercial. Maybe 10% of the sites I manage could qualify - as generally speaking Non-Commercial means no or low profit - and thus no or little time/budget for marketing.
Yeah you should read it if you want to pass it, or at least have the terms open in another window. There are a couple of conditions they have that might not be 100% intuitive or expected...
Passed it a long time ago. Got my site listed and that's all I cared about. It was a PITA but at least I got in.
