I don't want to contact them. They might say "Oh, yes. Someone needs this domain. $10,000 please".

I was wondering if anyone had any more ideas. :D

You may have to just wait it out then.
Hope that one of these times they decide not to renew.,,then you can move
    in.

There's no other way to get the domain unless it expires. It's not like you can take it from the current owner behind their back.

id make an offer on it and try and buy it. if they keep renewing year after year what makes you think it will change? if it is half good, it will be competitive when it expires and others will compete for it you will probably end up paying more.

Even if you would have $10,000 to offer, the domain owner may not want to sell it at any price, that is why you can always see that error page because he may not want to develop it either, but the name can be meaningful for him or a specific purpose.

I know someone who has been trying to buy IhateYouAll.com, this domain has been registered for about 10-11 years with no content, but eventually displays "hatred messages," politic criticism or support messages as of now so chances to get it are none.

My advice, keep waiting for your dreaming domain dropping day

If you have a lot of money to offer then anyone would sell. Just go ahead and contact them, it's better than doing nothing.

That's the thing. The domain is worthless. I would say the only person it is worth something to is me. It's nothing major.

I just think it's a bit suspicous that it gets registered a couple of weeks before I go to buy it.

The WhoIs says that it's from Godaddy by "Domains by Proxy, Inc".

Contact the guy and listen what he have to say to you.

Remember one thing if you want that domain: the first one to talk about a possible value will loose! :D

The scenario is that somebody has bought a domain name that you would like to own, your comment about it being worthless to someone else is not really the issue really and while he owns the domain there is not a lot that you can do.The price really is dictated by how much you want it,sending him emails will give him the signal that you want it and if he is business minded he will not part with it until you make a nice offer, money does not talk it shouts and if you have a deep pocket you will eventually get the domain if not i do not hold much hope for you getting it.

That's why I said I was not going to contact him.

Also what do you think the chances of the owner is a member here at DP?

That's what I mean. Maybe the owner is here. However I guess there is no way to find out with out giving the domain name. Which may cause more problems for me.

    Course my friend!

But the problem will be always the same... if the owner has the domain without nothing from a long time ago, maybe he is waiting to sell it! ;)

Usually though. Sellers have some sort of page. Even if it is the GoDaddy parked page. However this one comes up 404.
