Is anyone on earth apart from MS happy with Vista??

Probably because XP was made for past technology where as Vista is made for future technology.

If you can't run Vista on your pc then theres a high chance your XP system won't be able to handle the new games like Crysis and War of worls anyway.

so future technology is blue screen and reboot ???

looks like an ugly future ......

at my age dan, you don't care much about the games....... what really counts is being able to get the work done on that pc

Vista runs fine now with SP1, n00bs.
Don't hate if you don't have it. Don't talk if you haven't tried it.

No, you don't use modern technology on older hardware, it's simple!

The games situation was just an example of future software requiring more advanced hardware to run.

Blue screens of death are the users fault because they've done something wrong, if you tihnk i'm wrong give me an example where it's not the users faut.

You wouldn't buy a hdmi dvd player and expect to plug it into an av socket.

I highly favor vista and the way it functions. Especaily how it will immediately close a program if it ever stalls or doesn't respond.

You are a bit obssesed with this, aren't you?

    Vista is just fine.

    Technology CHANGES CONSTANTLY
. You can't expect to run modern software on old hardware and not getting a single error.

    1. the topic is about Vista and who is or is not satisfied with it. So your comments on my person are not welcome.

    2. the machine I was talking about was custom-made tailored to run vista....... and Vista is not able to finish the installation....

Then it's preety obvious whoever built the machine didn't have a clue what they were doing.

I have vista working absolutly fine on a 3.2ghz pentium 4 with 1gb pc3200 ram, i'd say those system specs are about 4 or 5 years old yet it runs fine.

You had a laptop built for vista yet it can't run? I suggest you get a refund.

Furthermore what are the specs of this mystery machine?

When I got my new laptop, with Vista pre-installed, I swore to wipe it clean and load OSX or Linux... but six months later, I am still using Vista, and I seem to curse it out less and less each and every day.

Everytime I ask for specs of this laptop that keeps getting brought up I get silence? I'm guessing it's like a 1.8ghz pentium 3? 128mb ram?

    ...Those were the days.

    da da da.......

it was a regular desktop dual core 1.86 with 2GB of RAM.......

the problem is NOT that Vista ran slow ...... it just did not install and got blue screens all the time........

and once again to you dan and to everyone following this thread with us: I am not talking about my own personal experience with Vista......... I am a computer technician and I get my hands on at least 3-4 computers every day .... and every single user I have known is complaining about vista......
