PR 6 site with 1 backlink?

How is that possible.
This site has a pr of 6 with a backlink from a site
with a pr of 0. guess google made some miscalculations
colibri-reisen dot com

 

That's because it's PR is fake.

I've seen quite a few sites with 0 backlinks and PR5 or rank top 5 in serps for a fairly competitive keyword.

I've since stopped trying to reason it out - makes my head explode.

Any domain can be forged by redirecting to another site that has PR.

Actual PR is 0.

 

Is there any way for Google to crackdown on this besides user reports?

 

can this also happen without the knowledge of the website owner?
why is the pr always 0? maybe its a bit higher especially when having
some backlinks.

 

ok, I have checked this tool a bit more and realized that it is extremly
unreliable because it even showed a fake PR for one of my pages and
definitely know that I never forged it. so we need a more reliable tool.
Is there any?

 

if someone puts their link on a pr7 page and then removes it.
that hardly ever happens though.
yahoo shows zero backlinks,so the pagerank is 0.

most likely they slapped content on the site right after the update and will be trying to sell links,pretty much scamming people.

I use it many times because it checks the validity of the PR, and the backlinks in Google, Yahoo, and Altavista as well.

 

i have the same question, how any one can forged the PR.

I know its a blackhat trick, but i want to know the exact method or i need to be aware of method...just for knowledge.

Yes its really impossible. Try to check in some other relevant PR checkers.

 

Maybe he took a site with PR 6 (possibly on an entirely different theme)
and 301 redirect it to his site, thous gaining the PR without any backlinks.

I don't believe he once had a link from a PR 7 site that was removed since:

1) Yahoo hardly ever remove any old backlinks that no longer exist (once
a year top) they just add the new links to the list.

2) I don't believe a crappy site with 1 backlinks managed to get a backlink
from such a strong site.

Although if he used a redirect to obtain his PR you won't be able to
pick it up using this or any other tool i know of....

 

google is a lier. they wont tell you the truth about backlinks because it may be useful to you as a SEO tool.

Any SEO is bad SEo to them. They want the world to be a simple place where you have some information and some stupid algo makes a choice about where it should in the 1000 billion possible results. They dont want to give you any chance of doing anything to change those results if they can help it.

 

you can find out if a site is using a 301 , is that your question, let me know if want instructions, I will do a blog post on it.
