-60 Google Penalty and REALLY nice post about it

Hey guys,

I was one of the victims of the -60 google penalty and just thought I would share a really nice post about it that also includes some links to other nice posts about it.

While I thought at first I was just caught up in the google dance, it turned out to be a google penalty (on going for me for about 3 weeks now) and just wanted to shed some more light on it.

What exactly does this penalty do to your site?

 

So you are sure your site recieved a penalty? What did you do to get penalized?

 

A very interesting read... have to watch out for those penalties.

 

I may agree to this topic, especially the 'Template Malicious Code', we should be all aware about it when changing templates...

 

Ecksit .. my site ranked very high (top 3) for certain keywords that had over 280 Million SERPS .. and now has been pushed back to pages 5-6-7 (varies everyday) - this being the home page

But also internal pages, ones that ranked on the first page for keywords that might only have 120,000 SERPS and now I find them all on the 5th or 6th page ..

So basically, google will never allow me to have a ranking for any keyword, competitive or not, that is on the first page until this penalty is lifted off of my site!

What do you guys think about the article .. I agree with that google might give us at least a little insight as to WHY we get penalized so we do learn and not do it again ..

I wish they would instead of one morning waking up and realizing your traffic drops 80% and revenue suffers!

I understand that possibly could be alot of work for google and they have rights to penalize whenever, but at least let some of the hard working webmasters know whats up!

 

I got a penalty for doing something stupid. It wasnt deliberate trying to mislead google or anything but just something stupid that i have since learned I should have known better. (funny enough yahoo penalised me too)

Anyway my serps all dropped to page 6-7 from page 1-2

I rectified the problem and waied and waited and waited....... the waited

three months almost to the day the penalty wore off so a word of advice to everyone is to be careful as three months is a bloody long time

the company had two domains and I uploaded the same thing to the two domains

very silly but what can i say I know better now

 

Wow .. well I am now one month and 2 days into my penalization!

I cant believe I have to wait 2 more months (I guess I should hope its no longer than that!)

LOlZ.. We have nothing to do in such cases.
One of site that have been ranking 3-7 position for a very good keyword for the past 5-6 months suddenly went off the SERP I didn;t even bother to check which page it went too..

About 2000 visits a day lost.

Surprising it is still ranking for other keywords...

I never did anything stupid in the last few days... In fact i haven't done anything at all since my laptop conked out last week.
