Downtime and Google Ranking

    My site is down for the whole day today due to server problem.

    I have a good rankings in my keyword.. Can this downtime affect my google ranking? instantly??

    no it will not effect.My site with good SERP comes to down for few weeks .

    it may..if it goes there multiple times and does not find it it may take it down for a few days...

    Yes, down time can cause your site to lose any or all search results ranking. Depending on the down time, the damage vary. But it is also possible that you will not lose any ranking at all.

    What about 24 to 48 hours down time?? Can this affect my SE Ranking..

    if it's only once during public G PR update - then no, it won't affect your PR, because PR is updating all the time and we (mortals) are getting official results every quarter. But if it happens often - I recommend you to change your hosting for more stable one.

    No need to worry about...

    But, worry about the returning visitors of your site, you might eventually loose traffic if that continues...

    My forum was PR3 and is now PR2, this is only caz of downtime otherwise i did nothing for links in this time (from last PR update till this one)

    Most sites have some downtime. I think the best hosts offer an up time of about 98%. Shouldn't affect your ranking

    One of my sites was down for 3 days during maintenance and I lost all my G rankings. Once site came back online, rankings returned a couple of days later to local Google, but not so much google.com.

    My daily traffic went from around 600 unique per day to 350 unique per day, and took about a month to get back up to the 600 level....
