    Hi Stuart

Just submitted to your directory - looks good.

Why would you say that bluefind and sevenseek are powerful - at this point they are largely not indexed/cached. If they were I would have to agree with you but... they aren't.

First off I'm in NO WAY affiliated with bluefind or sevenseek. We do however see lots of pages indexed for both. They both give fast submissions and good links.

Most directories don't show up in my google BLs (whatever that means) and Sevenseek does. Could mean nothing, but when you don't have much to go on...

Google has stated that they only show a sampling. They do not want to give SEO poeple a road map for backlinks. Google doesn't show too many high PR backlinks in the link command. If the link is there and there is no redirect stuff and the page is cached, it's counted.

Be careful. There are a lot of of free directories that never around to posting new sites. I have a ranked list of free directories. It is still not perfect yet but getting there.

    I appreciate any imput. Thanks.

Most of the time you get better service from paid directories.

You'd want to since you are paying for the privelege.

Also, since free directories would receive many more submissions than paid directories, it's fair to assume that they don't add all the sites that get submitted to them... They have the discretion to pick and choose which ones to use... Much like DMOZ does. Paid directories have to add whoever pays them.

I ask you this. Which makes a better directory? One that is choosy about which sites it will list or one that lists whichever sites pay?

We (Site-Sift Web Directory) have already refunded back a few listings due to poor quality or not within the guidelines. I can't speak for other directories. We also seek out valuable sites usually non-porfits for inclusion.

I myself would rather submit to a paid inclusion directory knowing that there is a high probability that my sites will be listed. :)
