Kaspersky is a good choice but it's keys gets blacklisted within a week. If you can update every time, Kaspersky is the best choice u have.
Otherwise NOD 32 is a better choice

Norton is a very powerful antivirus but it drags your system down. I use Mcafee

I agree with EvolutionPanda Nod32 and kaspersky are best.
I'll suggest you to go for Kaspersky if you are not familiar with Trojans and Spywares.

Is there any specific reason behind that

From my point of view AVG 8.0 and Avast 4.8 Home Edition is best Anti Virus now a days (both are free) :)

    DON.

    Dear Joebeagle,

The Choice is ur's. You feel like paying 700 bucks when you can get it for free ( i don't mind it if it is pirated).
I prefer using softwares for free as I believe that
People download Pirated Software not because they are free, but only because they are not free
Most Antivirus Companies do Target Enterprises for the Sale of their Product, not home users as they contribute a very little percentage to their annual revenue IMO.

It takes a lot of work to make an anti-virus and keep it updated, with definitions all the time due to new malware and infections. Why would you want illegal and pirated software? Do you have no consideration for others? It's not even close to $700 for an anti-virus, you have no clue what you're talking about. There are plenty of free AV's you can get that will protect you just fine. I prefer Avira AntiVir now because AVG8 now comes with Ask Toolbar. tilak83in, you really need to learn how to respect people and not pirate software. It is ILLEGAL and will only get you malware and virus'.
