First of all, 100-400 is not a lot of traffic. You need a really good niche to make good money from it, and if it's the case, you should consider adding affiliate marketing. If you want to get more money, you've to improve the CTR (increase the number of clicks in the page). There are several ways to do that, like blending your ads into the content. Also, you can improve the targeting of your ads by using section targeting (more information here).
To make more earning through adsense you must try to develop your blog or site throug hvarious search engine.. Add latest news daily to your site or blog so people come daily to your site.
A bit hard to tell, not knowing any details of your site (Tip: Put a link in your profile). So all I could do is advertize my article on AdSense. Maybe you find some tips there.
You can always play around and try with different ad placement and improve on your ad blending but the fact is that you will still get no where with the current traffic that you are getting. I would suggest you work on your traffic first before you worry about other stuff.
The basic way to gain money from adsense is get the traffic, increase the CTR and get high pay ads. Focusing on your keyword and optimize your ads placement/size (monitor it time to time to find out the best placement)

If you can increase the traffic, then that will be good. Anyway, try to improve your CTR, try different ad units and different ad placements.
