    nobody at joomla willing to help me solving this shitty problem.. :mad: so i thought to come back to my home forum..

    Its really simple.. ! when i turn on Search Engine Friendly URLs in configuration, i start getting "No input file specified." every where else except the homepage.. my .htaccess is unchanged, its came with the joomla 1.5 package plus its working as well.. my server configurations are fine

    the problem was previously specified here.. http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=433&t=300323

    (these dumb asses are turning friendly url off and dining happily.. )

    i know good replies deserve +reps.. :rolleyes:

    try this. go to your root joomla folder and find configuration.php and look for a line that says:

    var $live_site = '';

    you'll need to add your domain name (example):

    var $live_site = 'http://www.yourdomain.com';

    Hi There,
    The best thing to do is get a 3rd party plugin from http://extensions.joomla.org/compon...ask,search/Itemid,35/searchword,sef/cat_id,0/

    Then when you install it, they usually give you instructions on how to set it up properly, and how to edit your Htacess file!

    I have never used the built in Search Engine friendly URL system in Joomla, as they do not display the way I like them to, and I have little control over the output!

    Let me know if you have any luck with that!

    Cheers

    Joomla 1.5.5 has just been released today and it includes many seo url updates, upgrading to that should be the first thing to try I'd say:

    Good luck with it.

    Hi,
    What is in your .htaccess file?
    I have used Go Daddy before and have found that the problem was the .htaccess file not Joomla.
    Did you change htaccess.txt to .htaccess?

    Also, is there an .htaccess file and a htaccess.txt on your server? If there is, check to see if they are both the same.

    I have just setup a demo using Joomla 1.5 and tested this out. My default .htaccess file didnt work, but I found a file called htaccess.txt and found that this was more completed.
    Have tested, and is working just fine! My pages are displaying correctly with the search engine friendly URLs!
