Google's Page Rank Discussion Thread

There has been a page rank update 2-3 days ago. One of mywebsite page rank dropped from 1 to 0 but getting more traffics. Similary this happened me earlier also, one of my website page rank 3 dropped to 2 but getting much more traffic from SE than ever before.

I've another pr0 website that got pr3 but isn't getting that much SE traffic.

The thing from my various website concludes that page rank is one of the factor to determine SERP for website but not always. Even though if you see stable/increase in your website traffic with dropping of pr then why should one be bothered about...

Bother about traffics, quality of contents and quality of links coming from other related website.............

 

Over the time importance of page rank has declined..as there are many more factors what decide your trafic from google..

 

http://www.dlls.info PR checker tool is running off the newly updated DC, so if your pages don't show an increase using that it looks like you missed out.

Anyhow, PR N/A to PR6 was my best jump and a number of PR N/A to PR5 sites and pages.

 

I have similar question.

Site with forum. 3 month, Google Web-master's tools show everything okay, SERPs are good. In Google web-master's tools it writes that from whole site the page that has biggest PR is Forum page, and next is index page. But all PR checkers and toolbar are N/A for Forum page, but I've got PR for index and several other pages from the site. Does that mean that Google didn't finish PR update for my site?

Second question to meetbro: the site digpagerank, some datacenters are showing "OFF" for my page, when majority are showing same PR. How to understand that?

It looks like the Google PR on my site has been updated over the weekend. For some reason, it had dropped from a PR 5 to 4 last update (several months ago), but now it went back up to 5 after making some SEO improvements . Anyone else notice the updates?

haha you're kinda late, many threads and comments around.

 

PR5 dropped to PR4 and lots of inside PR4 pages down to PR3.
Other PR4s just stayed the same.
Not as good as the last update for me! But rankings and traffic are up in last month, so I'd have to agree that the display bar is not allmighty

 

Yeah, Urban Dictionary...good job on demonstrating that "updation" is, in fact, a made up word.

 

From PR0 to PR4. Who wouldn't be happy for that?

 

With my page rank remaining same or drop in some, it looks like I will have to work harder

Didn't notice any improvement on search engines traffic though, if it's meant to increase!

 

I started to work on one of my site at the end of April. And it got page rank 4 at this update. From 0 to 4 in just three months. I am so happy

 

Does this seem fishy?: A site with 500 backlinks updated daily got a PR 0, while a site that had 10 backlinks, updated once a week got a PR 5.

 

Everyone needs to stop looking into this so hard...

 

what does it mean when you have a white bar? Does that mean its being updated or does it mean it has already updated and you have 0/10 rank?

I have seen almost the same thing except not pr5, but a good quality updated original daily site that is 2 years old with a few hundred different backlinks and stay pr0, and then some new site that has just a bunch of spammed backlinks and it is getting pr2 after only a few months

I am not saying that the new site doesn't deserve the pr2, because if it has the backlinks then it does deserve it, but the older site should really be pr3 or pr4 in the same situation, it really makes no sense to me what they are doing???
