It appears google is now giving you penalties for to many key words. If you had 400 links with the word soccer and 2000 thinks with others that would be good but if you have 2400 links all with the key word soccer kiss your pr goodbye.

red sea check dot com went from pr0 to pr5 but when i checkpagerank.net it says forged how because when you search google for redseacheck dot com some other domain comes first, this other domain doesnt belong to me and has never been redirected to me!?!?!?

any explanations!?!? the only thing i can think of is that until 10 days ago i was using a splash page on red sea check dot com and these people copied it from me and got indexed while my title and search terms where still in the index.html file?

but happy with the pr5 today maybe it will be gone tmrw!

I got PR3 for my site after one year of link building I wonder how that site got PR3 in just few months?

 

One of my sites actually got a PR3 after about 3 months but after about 6 months total, my site still has a PR3 and my site isn't spammy at all.

And it really doesn't bother me that spam sites have PRs and oters don't. I've had this conversation before and PR isn't everything.

 

i had site PR7 and its dropped to 3. no blackhat. quite stupid

 

My site kept its PR4 thus far, it jumped from a 0 to a 4 in the last update... so I was half-expecting a hit, but things seem to be holding

 

The update is still going on as we speak I have a internal page that has a PR 3 even though the site is only 2 weeks old and the front page is a pr 0 and the rest of the site is PR 0 with hardly any link authority since its new.

 

Still no change :/

ya... always expect.... nobody know what google come's up with

 

For all we care Google could have monkeys randomly inputting characters as PR. So year you could get a high PR with just 4 backlinks.

I use the SEOQuake firefox addon, it's toolbar is great!

 

Obviously digpagerank because its most complete PR checking tool on earth till date.

 

After reading this post about Google and directories

- did a search on about 100 of the top Links directories - all of the 'INNER PAGES" were PR0. Many of those had PR3 and 4 links pages previously.

Their homepages and in some cases the category pages are fine, but Google has taken the PR out of the link pages so they can not offer any SEO benefits. Sadly, some had to pay to get into these directories

Is this fair? This now leaves just one less option for small Webmasters to SEO their sites.

Wonder if Yahoo and MSN has started penalizing them?

 

Hmm that is unfortunate! Directories are a great way to get links and traffic.
